Thursday, August 6th, 2015

There are a lot of video game themed cakes out there, and I really mean a LOT. Today I thought we’d look at a few cool birthday cakes for kids and adults alike!

Lots of stars, coins and a mid-flip Mario. This cake took over 40 hours to decorate!

This cool cake was made by a friend of mine, Zoe of The Cake Nook. She made this for her nephew’s birthday, he’s a big Zelda fan!

The rings are my favourite part! And Classic Sonic, of course. I wasn’t able to find out who created this, so if any of you readers know who it was please do let us know!

This cake is just beautiful! Gina, the creator, made this cake for her daughter’s birthday.

Another one from Gina (and also for her daughter’s birthday – what a lucky kid!), this one is just awesome. Even the stones are edible, and if you look closely you’ll see candles in the tail flame!

Well, dear readers, it’ll be my birthday in a couple of months…guess what kind of cake I would like? :)

Video Game Shadowboxes

Sunday, April 26th, 2015

I discovered these shadowboxes today while reviewing my Etsy feed, and I just love them! They’re made by ThePaperPonyPlace.

They have so many more shadowboxes in their store, too - from videogames to anime, Doctor Who to My Little Pony. Each shadowbox is made with card stock, placed in layers that makes them pop from the background. Check out the shop and their dA account for more!

Giant FF Tower of Kefka Pixel Hobby

Saturday, August 23rd, 2014

Wacker00, on deviantART, constructed this enormous Pixel Hobby project of the Tower of Kefka from FFVI (or FFIII, depending on where you’re from.) He says, “ This is constructed from 144k pixel hobby plastic beads. The beads are placed onto pegboards that hold 2k beads each. I lost track of the time it took to complete this but it was well over 300+ hours.”

Here are a couple close ups:

Katie, of pretty sneaky, knits on top of Converse. She has a lot of different designs, but here are some of her video game themes:
