Awesome Perler projects!!!

Wednesday, August 27th, 2014

ZenAlpha makes very cool 3D Perler scenes. Zen says, “I build all the objects and characters with Perler beads, but to save many, many hours I have a high quality print made for the backgrounds. It cost’s a little bit more but I think the results are much better. I build little stands of varying heights for any objects or characters I want elevated off the background. The Chrono Trigger one looks really nice in person since the two trees on either side are in the foreground against the glass with Crono and the party inset. Gives it a cool ‘looking in’ kind of effect.”

Japhet perler project

Tuesday, August 5th, 2014

Japhet is from the game OFF. (OFF is the critically acclaimed French surreal adventure RPG made by Mortis Ghost in 2008.)

Birdseednerd says, “This one was a doozy. Ate up 24 pegboards, and over 6,000 beads! Japhet is 25 inches by 30 inches. I am very proud of this piece.” And you have reason to be! It looks amazing and the ironing is very well done. (It took 45 mins to an hour to iron it.)

MapleStory Perler Sprites

heatbish, on DeviantArt, made some perler versions of MapleStory sprites. They’re well done and detailed, so I thought I’d share them:

Lakitu Key Hanger

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

I love this idea, it’s really simple but cute and clever too.

Made from perlers with a slyly attached hook, Lakitu makes a great key holder!

Super Mario Bros Seaside Scene Set

Monday, May 12th, 2014

I love to watch fish in tanks, as they swim around various objects. Quite often I think about getting a tank and filling it with fish, but then I see a set like this…

…and I think about buying a tank without┬áthe fish.
This cool little perler figure set is by Lori Mangione of SillyRabbitCrafts and she has many more interesting perler pieces in her shop!

Perler Bead Bracelets

Saturday, March 8th, 2014

Uenki makes some pretty cool video game themed perler bead bracelets… I was slightly worried about how strong these would be, but it looks like there is a clear plastic support inside for stability.

I chose a pacman and a pokemon one but there are plenty more on flickr!
