Epic Pokémon Generation 2 Cross Stitch

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

Forum member Hellfire recently posted a picture of her sister’s completed cross stitch – one of our epic Pokémon patterns!

EPPG2 by Hellfire-Sister

It’s taken her a couple of years to complete this (in between stuff like school and life) but she has already moved on and is apparently starting our Gen 5 pattern! Hellfire’s family are a little bit epic-mad…Hellfire has Gen 3 in progress, Mum was working on Gen 1 and I’m sure her other sister was starting Gen 4!

Unicorn Forest – A Game Sprite Mash-Up!

Sunday, July 10th, 2016

Miss Clawful, one of my most favourite stitchers ever, recently returned to the forums with a ton of new stitches! (Not even joking…she posted over 30 new projects!)
I picked out one of my favourites to share here, mostly because it’s a really good example of Miss Clawful’s special talent – composite images. She takes sprites and elements from different games, and pieces them together to make one beautiful image. Here is her Unicorn Forest!

This stitch brings together many parts from a range of NES/Famicom games: Willow, Keiba Simulation, Ninja Gaiden III, Gargoyle’s Quest II, Magician, Astyanax, Balloon Fight and The Little Mermaid.

If you’re interested in Miss Clawful’s creation process, she made a YouTube video about how she made this piece: https://youtu.be/aWrsD3D1PzM

Super Miniature 3D Ecruteak City Cross Stitch

Friday, June 10th, 2016

Our own Lord Libidan carefully crafted this wonderful Pokémon town and shared it on the forums!

Lord Libidan wrote, “Ecruteak City is actually different in the anime, manga, and games, and so this is a combination of a series of images and video to make the most generalised city.
The city features the nine-floor bell tower and the burnt tower, as well as city staples such as a Pokémon centre, PokéMart and houses. There’s a tiny zen garden, a cute cherry tree and he even included the blank house tile!

The whole city is stitched on 14ct plastic canvas and measures 3.5″ x 3.5″ x 4″.

Forum and stitching newcomer ParlorKing posted this lovely cross stitch project on the boards recently, and it caught quite a few eyes!

The logo, and flying Link, were stitched on some stunning hand dyed evenweave. A great first project!

The Dr {Mario} is in!

Friday, May 6th, 2016

This blogger has been pretty unwell recently (hence the lack of posts – many apologies, Sprite Stitch readers!) with various ailments. Because of that, I went on a little discovery tour of the internet, looking for Dr. Mario stuff! I’m not sure I would entrust my health to this particular doctor, but I did find a few nice items to share!

Pokémon’s 20th Anniversary!

Monday, February 29th, 2016

I think 2016 is the year for gaming anniversaries! We’ve already had Street Fighter II and The Legend of Zelda, and now it’s Pokémon!
I’ve picked out a few ‘mon-based stitches that I like (and believe me, it was difficult to even choose one – there are so many out there!)

arkani from the forums stayed up until about 5am to complete this Surfing Pikachu stitch in time for Pokémon Day (which was 27th Feb.)

Lord Libidan‘s classic tattoo-style crest, which is still awesome!
