Sunday Roundup December ’12

posted in: Sunday Roundup! | 1

Here we are in 2013, but it’s time to look at the highlights from December! The month’s challenge was Villians, because our moderator was in a “vile mood.” 🙂

Our winner was funkeymonkey, with this amazing project:

It’s Neo Cortex from the Crash Bandicoot series, and single crosses on 28 count. What amazing work.

Our second place winner was Miss Clawful, with the Grim Reaper:

And there was a tie for third place. Blackmageheart with the Slender Man, and Sofarastarfyre with Carmen Sandiego:

All of the other projects were amazing too. It was a difficult vote!

The new challenge for January and February is Portraits. This time we have two months to come up with something really amazing! Here is the description of the challenge:

“Welcome everybody to the first challenge of 2013!
As the topic title suggests, this challenge is about portraits. I’m sure most people know what a portrait is, but just in case this is what we want: a crafted picture of a character’s face/head (you can include neck and shoulders if you wish).
Many games already have character portraits in them, which would be totally fine to submit. As would any cropped image of a character. The portrait needs to have some sort of frame around it. You have two months so have some fun with your ideas, maybe do something a little bit different, whatever you like. Only rules are that it must be a finished craft, be a video game character and your own pattern idea. As ever, all crafts welcome and multiple entries are fine! ”

We are also starting the 2013 Child’s Play Charity Quilt(s). It’s not too late to get involved!

We have some amazing personal projects posted to the boards, but they’re all in January, so you get to wait until next month’s Sunday Roundup. We’ll see you then. 🙂
