I’ve created a new mario cross stitch pattern which shows mario as he advances through his titles on the original nintendo (NES).
(click the above image for a high res view of individual stitches)
due to a request…here is the symbol chart and symbol directions…
Pattern created by me…
This pattern was inspired by The History of Mario in Cross-Stitch via [Kotaku]

That is so cool! I love the Risk pattern. We are so related. Did you see the plate tectonics scarf I did? http://flickr.com/photos/fisheggs/sets/77716/ The resolution is kind of low, but it was a lot of fun!

[…] crafter and writer of the Sprite Stitch blog was inspired by this cross stitch and has created a new one: Mario throughout the games for the 8-bit NES. I think I love this cross stitch even more than last […]

Do you have a key for the History of Mario pattern? I think I can figure most of it out from the color list, but I’m not sure about all those grays…

I love these patterns! I was surfing around looking for something to do for making some Wintereenmas decorations and I just fell in love with these. I’ve started the Mario pattern and I’m going to do some of the Punch Out! ones next. Can’t wait to see more.

This is so cute
I went and bought all the colors and everything but I am confused on the pattern. The symbols on the color chart and the symbols on the pattern don’t match. Is that just something I am misunderstanding? Thanks for the great pattern!

no youre not reading it wrong…i tried opening it on a different computer, and without the correct fonts the symbols do not appear properly. When I get back in town (in 2 days) ill take a screenshot of it and post up an image instead of a word document. thanks for the catch.

Any more word on the screenshot? I’m also having troubles matching up the symbols.
Plus, is there any reason why there are specific colours included in the pattern directions (pewter grayx2, beaver gray, navy blue) but not in the symbol description .doc? I just want to make sure I get all of the correct colours.

I have never done cross stitch before, but ive been meaning to start again, so i went out and picked up all of the colors and fabric and decided to teach myself. Three figures complete and outlined and the pattern is amazing. Thanks for this post!
