    Awesome job!

  4. Impressive!

All these epic cross stitches make me feel lazy! I just don’t have the patience for anything more than a couple inches across.

  5. renee – dont worry, they make me feel the same way…and I spend way too much time each day researching stuff im too lazy to do myself!!

  6. @Johloh: Haha! I lol’ed for real.

  7. how many colors did he/she/you use and how big was your aida? my girlfriend said that she would do any cross stitch for me for xmas and i am a noob stitcher, (she has had to fix 2 knots for me already and ive been stitching for one day….) and i told her that she would get gf of the year if she does this one. so she will! but i need to know how many colors or the names of the colors would be nice, and perhaps how big it was when finished?

    thanks

    Ein

  8. einherion – he thinks he did it on aida 18 count…

and, I made the pattern, its here. (but it does have the background removed). I can ask blink if he has a pattern with the full background.

    good luck!

  9. so i downloaded pcstitch, and have a screen shot of the title screen, but mine comes out super pixelated and i took a screen shot at the lowest size. I really want to emulate the clarity of blink’s pattern, is there anyway to get that from him? or i could use your expert pattern making help. my girl will make it for me but i have to buy the supplies. so i could really use a pattern and some colors…i tried doing it myself so im not a complete mooch, but in order to get the green of the trees in the background i had to use like 150 different colors on pc stitch and then it still didnt seem right….

    please help!!!

by the way, help or not, your site has kept me up way past sanity looking at all the amazing stitchings and crafts that you grace us with. it has reawakened my creative side and i spend more time creating and less time consuming! Good Job!

  10. ein i asked blink for it, no response yet…thanks for the kind words about the site, I love to hear it !

yeah 150 isnt right. there are only 3 colors in the trees. it sounds to me like youre dealing with an image with jpeg compression. If you zoom in you shouldnt see a blur of colors…check these examples of the trees.

    bad – http://www.spritestitch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/linkexample1.png

    good – http://www.spritestitch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/linkexample2.png

also, try and keep your images in PNG format, when you switch to jpg you can mess it up.

here is a perfectly clean image, try that in pc stitch…one thing to note, you gotta make the pattern the same size in dimensions as the image…so if the image is 150px by 150px your pattern better be 150 stitches by 150 stitches. (otherwise pc stitch will start bluring stuff together and make ‘new’ colors.)

  11. first things first. you are super quick to respond, and that is awesome. i hope i can put up some contributions soon to the site. however, none is original yet (im doing the final fantasy sprite with the six warriors of light and the final fantasy logo), still learning and trying to make grades at college.

now im going to go count all those pixels.

  12. okay so i found a better way to count pixels, hint: preferences. but now the last piece of the puzzle is how many colors to tell pc stitch to use, and it is giving me a weird color for the sky…

so color help is all i need and i can go from there!! thanks alot!!

  13. and one more thing, i cant afford the full version of pc stitch, so could you make me one i can print for my girlfriend to use? pretty please? with sugar on top?

  14. you shouldnt need to tell pcstitch how many colors to use…give it a high max and itll choose what it needs. should be small though.

no idea why the sky would be a weird color. sent me you file and I’ll check it out and/or give you something to print.

    johloh@yahoo.com

  15. i cant save or print. so i cant get anything to send you…
and it uses every color i tell it to…so if say 35 it does 35, and if i say 45 it does 45….unless i need to look at that again…

and im using the pic you sent me with the black border cut off.

  16. ill get it to you. I hope your gf realizes what she’s getting herself into.

  17. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! ill be sure to send you pics of the progress, but we are in college right now, so it may take a while, but she wants it done by christmas or soon there after. more power to her. ^_^

  18. Yay! thank you very much!! and this is a pattern that will allow her to make the whole title screen? not just the logo? THATS GREAT! thanks!

  19. yeah, minus the black bars and copyright

  20. Thats perfect!! thanks! ill have to go buy the supplies right away! and of course print this! thank you!
