This has absolutely nothing to do with 8-bit anything except for right angles; to claim otherwise is either uninformed or dishonest.

uniformed? dishonest? seems a little extreme. It is in a similar style to 8-bit sprites…and to me it appears to be inspired by 8-bit graphics. so I referenced it as such. you are of course technically correct, I apologize for my terrible mis-use of a term.
