My Neighbor Totoro pattern request

Post by cookieman789 »

I've just recently discovered this site and I have a thousand and one ideas, but no real knowledge of the software involved or how to best use it.

I am really wanting to make a cross stitch pattern of Totoro for my daughter, who doesn't like Disney movies, but loves Hayao Miyazaki movies. Go figure. So, I have a couple of pictures I'll link since I'm not sure which ones will work best. The first image with the girls, Totoro and the Catbus would be my preference if it works in a pattern format easily, though I'll link others too. As far as size, I'm not daunted by large projects, but I'll say 16x20 as a rough size guideline. Sky is the limit on colors.

Thank you in advance to anyone with the time and skill to take this one on.

16x20 inches? I'll give it a shot for you - I love Totoro so I'd like to do one of these eventually too. Only one condition, you have to post work-in-progress pictures somewhere for me!

OK I've given it an hour of image editing and can't really get it to the clean, cartoony look - it's still washed out and speckled because of the quality of the pic. You might need to find a better quality GIF, PNG or BMP image rather than a JPEG. I'll have a shot at the second one but am keen to see a better copy of the first.

Thank you so much for this! I'm a huge fan of Miyazaki and this is definitely my favorite movie! I'll stitch this at some point...

Hello! Does anyone have any small - say card-sized - Totoro charts?

This one is a bit smaller. Tell me if you like it - I've removed black outlines in favour of clean blocks but you could put them back in with a backstitch border.

By using my PC stitch program I have been able to create a cross stitch pattern for the catbus group photo in the following specifications:

16 point aida, 200 colors, size 16w by 8.75h

I can copy this out and either snail mail or email it (specify whether or not you need it in word if I send it to you).

Hope this helps.
