Website Malware warning

Post by kuja.girl »

Chrome gave me a not happy message:
"Warning: Something's Not Right Here!
www.spritestitch.com contains content from etsync.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.
We have already notified etsync.com that we found malware on the site. For more about the problems found on etsync.com, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page."

Popped up when I tried to view page 3 of the Monthly contest for game items... First time I've seen this

Yeah, first time I've seen that too. I think you saw that on that specific page because I'm pretty sure purcell_a05's got an etsync thingy in her sig. (Sorry purcell! I know it's not your fault! :D )
I'd guess it's something at etsync.com's end as there's normally no problem with anything of theirs (that I know of).
All we can really do is wait until they sort it out, there's nothing we can do at this end except ask anyone with an etsync to remove it temporarily :sorry:

Oh man, I'm sorry guys! I'll update my sig in the meantime so hopefully it'll fix it.

No need for you to be sorry, it's definitely not your fault! But thanks for doing your sig, great help. I'm sure etsync will sort itself out soon enough so that you can put it back :D

Yeah I knew it had something to do with "Etsy" but I'd never heard of "Etsync". They likely they updated (aka broke) their code which is why Chrome is picking it up as potential Malware. Glad it was something so easy to "fix" even though it meant loosing your cool sig Purcell!
