Projects on the go?

Post by haveyoumetlisa »

I was wondering if any of you guys take cross stitching projects around with you, and if so, what do you use to store it? I currently use a giant plastic bag that holds the hoop/fabric, the floss, scissors, etc. But it's a pain, because it means I have to take a giant purse with me to hold the bag. I was just hoping maybe one of you clever people found or made a travel case? Any help appreciated. Thanks all!! :help:

I normally keep my box of cross stitching stuff/current project with me in my computer bag, since I tend to bring my computer around everywhere with me. Sometimes it's a tight fit depending on what else I'm carrying in my bag, but it normally works for me.

I have a DMC travel bag that I got on ebay (I was lucky to get it for a steal!) like this one:

They have pockets for everything, felt for needles and pins, and ring binder in the middle for stitch bow holders (although I have a load of graph paper in it as well). I believe they come in all kindsa colours too, I saw a pretty blue floral one the other day.

Of course any bag will pretty much do :D

I have a carrying case like Blackmageheart but honestly, it's in one of my craft cabinets somewhere and I'm too lazy to find it. I really just use a large ziplock bag too and throw it in my backpack! :)

I normally have my Mirror's Edge bag with me, and that has enough pockets on it that I have room for everything!

Wow blackmageheart, I'm jealous!!
I'm only using a small pouch thingy which I got as a freebie along with some skin products. It's just the right size to fit a tiny little project (which is great for trains I think lol), some bobbins with floss and scissors :P

Seriously, I'm just using Mary Maxim bags and I'm forever taking cross-stitch over to my boyfriend's or Mum's...
