when they first released the orange box and i first played portal (at a friends house) it was like... i had to have it, immediately. it could have gone down like this:

'omg valve. here is a blank check. you write any number you want on there and i will pay it for this game.'

and i would have been completely satisfied with it.

so, free portal. everyone in the world needs to have portal now. there is no longer any excuse for not having it. cept not having a computer. other than that tho, you should have it ;P

It's pretty much the most intriguing single-player game that I've encountered in a very long time.

If you haven't heard "the cake is a lie" or something along those lines, DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

And even if you have, DOWNLOAD IT NOW! Cuz it's free. And free = good = win.

I used to absolutely LOVE Narbacular Drop, but never owned Portal myself (had played it several times though) so when I saw this post I had to download it! I won't have time to play it until I finish the craft swap though lol

Honestly, I gotta say I wasn't at all interested in the game til my hubby beat it on the Xbox.. and the ending song was just so awesome that I realised that I had to pay attention to it -- I actually had ordered the Orange Box for my PC when he started, so when he finished I didn't even bother with TF2 and went straight to Portal, despite the fact that I'd had TF2 pre-ordered for five years before I finally just gave up on it.
