Finished my first square. I was never a fan of the bright pink in Link's hat or the fact that the green in the hat didn't match his tunic, so I took a little creative license there. It's stitched over-2 on 28 ct oatmeal fabric.

Got started on the Pikmin square. Almost done with the outlining already. Very quick pattern, at least for that part.
**Again, if someone could resize, that'd be lovely**

What are you going to do with the squares?LinkIsMyHomeboy wrote:**Again, if someone could resize, that'd be lovely**

Thanks again for resizingSunkistShiek wrote:What are you going to do with the squares?LinkIsMyHomeboy wrote:**Again, if someone could resize, that'd be lovely**

I was thinking that I'll attach each of the squares to either some plain black or white aida and put a border between them. The other idea I had was to find a four-panel frame and just frame them that way.

Re: APR/MAY Stitch-A-Long - Samplers!
I started my Link to the Past square on 14ct fabric but then I realized that I could use this as an opportunity to try out continental tent stitching in a different way (I normally only to continental tenting in straight rows and park different colours as I go).
I am using 28ct fabric. I decided to try stitching the whole image with black first. Since the Pikmin 2 square was released before I finished the first one I decided to finish the black on that square too.
I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along. I will cut away the purpley thing in the top left corner once I'm done. It's just a leftover test swatch for my charity square.
It is so neat seeing the slight variations in everyone's sampler squares!

Finally got mine done! Well, the first one at least. I was trying to dye my own fabric and it was just giving me troubles. Was trying to go for green but it gave me blue. *sighs* So much going on right now, it's hard to keep track of it all. lol

Ha. I think it looks good in blue. It makes Link stand out moreKareesh wrote:Finally got mine done! Well, the first one at least. I was trying to dye my own fabric and it was just giving me troubles. Here is my finished Link panel.
It was supposed to be 25" but is a little closer to 23" (good enough). I'm rethinking if I want to make all 4 panels this way... it was a little tough on my wrist. Though it does look pretty neat. <shrug>

Oh my gosh Lucy, that looks amazing! I loved watching the progress on your blog. I really hope you do make more at some point, even if it's not all four.

Thank you! I was thinking I might do the next panel with 1.5" squares which will end up being 50" instead of 25". It might make it easier to work with (can't make it harder). I was also thinking of doing another small one and then putting it with Link in a quilt. I'll see what tomorrow's square is and if that sparks some direction.Clarington wrote:Oh my gosh Lucy, that looks amazing! I loved watching the progress on your blog.
