Re: Introductions
Hi all I'm Lex - I just came across this forum the other day while looking at Mario patterns. I am from FL and used to cross stitch quite a bit when I was younger. As I got older I found that the cross stitch kits were rather boring so I kinda gave up. I recently found a Judge Judy (don't judge me, I love her) pattern and that sparked my interest again. I have found so many great ideas on the forums the past few days that I decided to become a member. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Re: Introductions
There are too many fantastic patterns I should be working on right now. I need clones. Or minions haha.
Hello there! Seems that, like everyone else, I was drawn in to your community by all the beautiful work and free patterns found here. Stunning work. I admit, I lurked for a few weeks - I think I came across the patterns list twice in a Google search - the one on the board, and the newer one on the site - before I realized it was all the same place these links were directing me to lmao I've already learned quite a lot, snooping around this place.
Anywho, my name is Mia. My late grandmother taught me how to stitch on plastic canvas and aida cloth when I was about 10. So that means I've been doing this for a good 16 years (I suddenly feel old). I prefer PC because of its simplicity and I can finish pretty much anything in a day or so, but I absolutely adore XS - I'm just really intimidated by anything that would take me more than 2-3 sittings to complete (total space case). I have two or three GIANT patterns I would love to do from here.. I just wish there was more time in the day!
Definitely looking forward to getting to know you all!

Re: Introductions
Hi all- I've been browsing this site for patterns for a few months now and have decided to join.
My grandmother showed me how to cross stitch and embroider when I was young. I put the hobby down for many years because I felt the counted cross stitch kits that were out there were....boring. I recently came across an image of a Mario sprite that had been stitched, and the excitement of stitching returned. I stitched up a Raccoon Mario during a road trip and I've been one-thing-after-another ever since : )
I mostly do Mario/Zelda stuff- because that's what I played as a kid- as well as embroidery on clothing (skirts, cardigans, sweaters...).
I find time to feed my stitching habit in between working full-time at a grocery co-op, working a collectively-run organic vegetable farm, and being social : )

Re: Introductions
Hi my name is Alister, and I'm a stitcher....
I've been lurking for over a year now, but with the completion of a major set of cross stitches I decided to join. I found tha I have a lot of down time at my work and rather than just play solitare all night I decided to seriously take up cross stitiching again.
I started cross stitching when I was little. My mom got me a stamped kit of a dinosaur room sign. I completed that one really quick and moved onto a gold collection one that I picked up at Michael's. It took me roughly 12 years of off and on (mostly off not as much on,) work to finish the set of three that I'll post soon.
As soon as I finished those I wanted my next challenge...a video game challenge. I noticed in Nintendo Land that all 12 mini-games have a great mosaic on the entry tunnels. Well as of last night I finally finished the 12th design. I decided to join, so I could show off, and also to try and see if others had already conquered some other projects I have in mind.
I'm California based in the Bay Area.

Hey, my name is Manda. Been stalking the forum for awhile and finally decided to join. My first cross stitch was when I was a young kid or teen (a very simple child cross stitch kit). I don't cross stitch very often tho. I finished my second ever project a couple months ago and am hopefully starting a new project as soon as I get thread. My favorite video game is Final Fantasy VII
I'm into photography, fashion, sewing, needle arts, animals, and i dabble in many many different things.

Re: Introductions
How did I miss this thread for the last 4 months??
Hello all, I am Amanda. I've been lurking here since november-ish when i found the pattern for the all gens pokemon piece. It really got me back into stitching again. I have been cross stitching since i was 8 or 9 years old (over 18 years now), when my friend's sister taught me how. And i just fell in love. Up until now i have mostly worked on kits and patterns from books and magazines, but I really enjoy making patterns, almost as much as stitching them!
I am currently an XBox 360 gamer, but i dabble with nintendo aswell (WiiU and 3DS). I also play WoW quite a bit.
I live in Northern Ontario with my boyfriend and 3 cats (Bella, Tigger and Robin) who are very supportive of my stitching.
I have a Biological Engineering degree, but am currently working as a dietary aid in a nursing home. Its all call ins, which allows me to have plenty of free time for stitching.
I think i'm a pretty friendly person, so if you ever need help or advise please feel free to ask!

Re: Introductions
Hello!
Nicole here. I've been reading the blog off and on for years now but just recently decided to check out the forums when I decided I want to learn to cross-stitch. As far as crafts go I learned to crochet at summer camp when I was little and have done a bit of jewelry making but recently decided to try needlework. And what better to stitch than patterns that are actually interesting?
I grew up watching my dad beat the first Super Mario Bros. on NES and playing games with him and my younger brother. Now I mostly stick to games I can play on my computer.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more of what's on the forums and being inspired by all these projects!

(In the voice of Dr. Nick) Hello Everybody!
I go by rhaben (phonetic spelling of Robin) and I just joined your gang a few days ago and figured it was time for me to hop into the fray. I've been cross stitching for many, many years now, and I've been designing my own patterns just about the same length of time. I don't do that many patterns that are gaming related, but I do make many that are geeky in nature. I've recently gotten into designing and stitching 3D projects. I started with the TARDIS and have moved on into dolls (many Doctor Who ones and assorted others) and now I'm making animals as well. I love to see what others are doing and look forward to meeting you all.

Hi everybody!

Wow, I thought you'd been around longer! Maybe it's because of your awesome work.samarin wrote:How did I miss this thread for the last 4 months??

This made me laugh, because I have the least supportive cat ever. She steals my supplies all the time. I think she wants to stitch...samarin wrote:my boyfriend and 3 cats (Bella, Tigger and Robin) who are very supportive of my stitching.

Exactly!!!ElpisBlooming wrote:And what better to stitch than patterns that are actually interesting?
