I got my fabric the other day and noticed that it only comes in 12"x18". Is that still okay? Or do I need to find a bigger one?

Rogueprincess that looks fine.

I'm sorry kittenkitten, it is not big enough. The directions specifically say it must be 15"x15" and the reason behind it which is the need for extra space for quilting and cutting down. If it is too small it will not be able to wash, iron, and stretch in the same way as the other squares and still have extra space after cutting down for quilting.

Blackmageheart is correct, if it is not Exact, that is fine. There is some aida that will be 5x6 or 7x5. Those proportions are way off and can't be used. Up to 1/4 of an inch difference is fine and can be overcome using quilting.

If anyone has tons of ideas but not enough time, hit me with one or two of them, because I'd like to take part but have no ideas what to stitch.
(patterns would be useful too, as I have no pattern making abilities, and as this is someone elses computer I can't get them either)

My favourite series of games is definately Legend of Zelda, closely followed by Harvest Moon...

So I was playing a few old ROM's i've got, and I came across this scene from TLK: Simba's Mighty Adventure.
Resizing it makes it look awful, KG chart crashes, and cropping takes out pretty much everything. help?

Is it okay to use backstitching and french knots in these? Without it, my acrobat does not look like an acrobat... Incidentally, here's my pattern, if anyone would care to have a look? :)

EDIT: I threw my other picture into KG Chart and it came out incredibly dark- is there a way to lighten it a bit without changing every pixel by hand?

I'm not sure what the official ruling will be, but I can tell you from experience that french knots do not quilt or launder well so I'd avoid if at all possible. Back stitching is also tough to work with unless each section of thread is less than two stitches wide, otherwise it will snag. So any diagonals or long lines will have to be well tacked and/or stitched into every square regardless of whether it's at a hole or not. My best advice - avoid backstitching and decorative stitching for a quilt square. There will be other times to use these that will be less "dangerous" for the finished project.

I agree - best to avoid backstitching and french knots.

Try increasing the brightness of the image in an editing program before importing :D

I wouldn't even consider resizing something as simple as that - cropping is probably your best option. I'm assuming you have tried something like this:

That wouldn't be a bad image, but you might want to get hold of one or two more screenshots (if possible) :D
