Re: Super Mario 3 World 2 (Work In Progress)
I was inspired to do all the levels at one point too. But I've been working on this for well over two months now, and still have about two more months of work with it. The time and money put into doing just World 2 is a lot already, and wanting to do all 9 levels is going to take years to be honest. And I've been doing this with half-stitch. Full cross-stitch would take even longer unless you can stitch really fastDragoniron7 wrote:i think you have inspired me to do all the levels, now im just deciding if i should do it in perler or as cross stitch.....

I'm also working on this map, I just couldn't resist after making the first world last year. I've been stitching since april, but I haven't had as much time to work on it as I'd like. And I'm doing it in full cross stitch so it'll take a while before it's finished...

Even though you are both doing the same map (well I think you are) they both look different, or is that me? I'm tired and I need to sleep so I might be going slightly mad!!! May have already done so... moving on!!! I think they are both looking stunning and I'm totally jealous and wish I was doing one of these!

What do you mean by portal level? SMB3 didn't have a 9th World, 8 was the last one. I did the last portion of World 8 a while back, is this what you mean?Dragoniron7 wrote:is the 9th level the portal level?

Oh man, that's awesome! Is that the version of SMB3 from Super Mario Advance 4?Cross Stitch Ninja wrote:I'm also working on this map, I just couldn't resist after making the first world last year. Oh, and looking back at your World 1 map, what thread colors did you use for the rocks? PCStitch Pro gives me 741 for the orange, and 3771 for the skin color, but both colors just feel off for me. And it looks like a different color in your World 1 map
I'm actually enjoying the background stitching as much as the filling in of the trees, rocks, etc. The most annoying part is the outlines of the rocks and treesLiquidKarma wrote:I would love to do the maps but i think the background stitching would drive me mad!
Thanks!jelibe wrote:Even though you are both doing the same map (well I think you are) they both look different, or is that me? I'm tired and I need to sleep so I might be going slightly mad!!! And yeah, it's definitely at least different coloring, and I'm pretty sure it's a different version too.

Thanks! Now that you say it, it might be. I just did an image search and more or less took the first decent screen shot I found and didn't think more of it. I don't know what version mine is, but it it does look different from yours.Blink190 wrote:Oh man, that's awesome! Is that the version of SMB3 from Super Mario Advance 4?
I'm afraid I don't remember what colours I used on the first map, all my notes are lost... But I know that the pattern making programs can give strange floss suggestions sometimes. My tip is to go to a craft store and look at the colours in person to see which ones work best.
And I like stitching the backgrounds too, it's kind of meditative. The trick is to have something interesting to listen to, an audio book or something.

Haha, yeah, I've been recently racing through TV shows. I watched all 5 seasons of Lost in 3 weeks, and now I'm watching 30 Rock. It provides a nice distraction.Cross Stitch Ninja wrote:Thanks! As for the colors, it's fine, but I'm pretty sure that's the Mario Advance 4 map, because I took the one straight from the original. I actually kinda wish I had looked into doing yours first, it looks more appealing
