Seven Weeks:
This week I was able to get the sky and mist done around the base of the rainbow, and continue working on the sky. You can see a little bit of the outline for the weird flying thing in the picture (I am not totally sure what it is...), and I have all of the single stitches done within the areas I have started. Those single stitches can be a lot of work!

I also am looking at ordering a scroll frame because the frame I have is just not working. I am using some 'q-snaps' that I actually bought for quilting, but they are just barely too small so the edges of my fabric get a little crinkled. I was wondering if anyone has a preference for the type or brand of scroll frame they use, or even better, if someone has built one that they could share plans? :nod I tried one from Joann's and it was really poorly made, the wood was very splintery and left stuff all over the fabric I used. It was bad enough that I returned it, and I almost never return stuff. Anyway, thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

It's coming along really well! Can't wait for the week 8 update! Can't help with the scroll situation myself, usually when something like that happens to me I become so frustrated that I don't look at the project again for ages!

It's looking great! This will be gorgeous when it's done.

I have been admiring these kits for awhile but I am having a hard time deciding which one I like best. It looks fabulous. I look forward to seeing more updates.
I think so, Brain, but can the gummi worms really live in peace with the marshmallow chicks?
I think so, Brain, but if they called them "sad meals" nobody would buy them.

All right, time for the 8 week update.
I beat Zelda a couple of weeks ago, so I have much more of my free time available for cross stitching now :) I tend to watch Netflix and stitch after my daughter has gone to bed, so it's a good time.
This week I was able to do the sun, which uses the sparkly thread like the rainbow does. I am sooooo close to being done with the sky, then I'm not sure where I'll go next. Maybe the castle? :) Also, I started posting 4 week update pictures in the opening thread so it's easier to see the progress.

Nine Weeks:
First off, sorry if an every week update is too much, but I know that I love seeing other WIP's because I think it's very motivating. I also think that for my own sake it helps me to have something to work for each week. It keeps me stitching :)
Anyway, surprise surprise, MORE SKY! I am realllly hoping that next week will be my last 'sky' week, and that then I can move on to the rest of the pattern. However, this week you can see the entire outline of the flying thing, and the start of the outline of the gargoyle. I will say though, that for so much sky I am really still enjoying stitching this. Even the background is fun. It does help though to step back and take a look at it from a distance every once in a while. I think when you are right up close sometimes the colors and everything can look off, but when you step back it all works out.
Welp, here 'tis!

Great job!
I actually found this kit at my local hobby lobby and about bought it.
I in the end I didn't, got discouraged thinking it was impossible but after seeing the progress you've made my hopes have returned to actually get it and start it today.
And for that little "push" ... Thanks!
Please keep posting!
Once I start and if I run into a bit of trouble (of course if you dont mind)
I'll be asking for advice!

That's great! I hope you do get it. If you do, feel free to post your pictures here, too! And one big tip before you start, or at least close to the beginning: Go through all of the floss and make sure you have enough of every color and that the colors look right. I had one that was supposed to be a 'light peach pink' that was definitely a dark blue, and one color that I only had 10 out of the 20 strands it said I needed. Since the colors aren't DMC, if you find any discrepancies let me know and I'll tell you how to get a hold of the manufacturer, they were great in getting me the floss I needed and it didn't cost anything. If I find any other weird things I will let you know! Oh! And be sure to find a coupon to use at Hobby Lobby, usually you can print one off that's 40% off :) Good luck!
