Yes, you don't have to worry about washing and ironing. I will take care of all of that. That is one of the reasons for all of the extra border, so I can then trim it down after. Some people still wash and iron because they want a nice picture of what they did for themselves. If you do that, I will still wash and iron it again just to be safe. I don't want any shrinking of the quilt after it is put together.

Hey guys, I finally decided on my first square! :D
Took me forever to actually get a good ref image of this game because the ones online were all jpegs...(Who saves 8-bit screenshots as JPEGS?! orz)
Anyway, after downloading the ROM and taking a screenie myself, I finally have a nice ref of one of my favorite Oracle of Ages scenes:

Ok, after much debate I finally settled on Little Nemo Dream master on NES =3
Here's the pattern I worked out, its alot of brown, that I think I'll have to hand pick.
Please let me know what you think!!! (I hope its not too plain) ; ;

Oh, and just to clarify, it is all right if our Aida is any shade of white, right? They were completely out of 16 count white at the only craft store in town, so I went ahead and got "Antique White" instead. It's slightly more creamy than the white, so I hope that's okay.

Little Nemo is great! Looks good to me.

I'm going to send tnitnetny some fusible interfacing with mine, some of the areas with single stitches of color could use the help...

Thank you! I'm heading out now to pick up my aida, hopefully get started tomorrow on it.

Sending the interfacing is actually a really good idea. :good:

As long as it is definitely white and not an off white that is fine (more cream than white). You will see some of the aida sometimes, so that is why it is important to be white and consistent with the other stitchings.

What do you need it for? Is the stitching coming out, or just for stiffness? I ask because we don't want any squares to be stiff, it will be a quilt. If it is because the stitching may be coming out, then use a very, very flexible fusible interfacing. We don't want your square to be the only stiff part of the quilt. :D

Yes, when I look at it, it definitely looks white. At the store they also had Ivory, and that one looked very yellow/cream colored, so I picked the Antique White because it was much more subtle. Here's what it looks like next to the white:

That should be fine. The ivory would have definitely be a no, but to me what you have looks white! :D

No worries, I always use the thinnest interfacing they make - it doesn't make the fabric stiff. The stitches aren't coming out, but there are a couple of places that worry me (isolated 1-3 stitches of color). I usually use the interfacing on pieces that are used as opposed to framed, it just gives me some piece of mind. You don't have to use it if you hate it :)
