Sadly those towels do not seem to be available in any of the Australian craft stores (that I have managed to find), so I think I will have to order one in
I had a problem with getting supplies when I lived on Guam also! I don't know any sites off the top of my head that both have a wide range of products and ship internationally....maybe post this as a topic and get some feedback from others! I'm sure everyone will like to help!
Your towel is so cool, Ufa, you did a great job on it !
I've never heard about waste canvas, that dissolves when you wash the cloth ; it sounds very interesting...

I don't think the'yre available here. however i always just assumed the easiest way was aida cross stitch band... do the design you want. then sew it onto the towel.. that way you cant see the back of it.. there wasn't a lot of colour choice when i went do probably better off going with a white band and getting some fabric dye to get the right colour you want.
plus the aida band has a semi nice edging to it. make it pruddy ^_^ :p

I use it, but not as often as the others. I have to wash it by hand instead of put it on washing machine
Why do you wash it by hand? Is it because of the fabric or the stitching? I made a towel a few years back and I use it (and machine wash it) as often as my "normal" towels. Same for a towel my aunt stitched for me (with my name on it) when I was a kid: I still have, wash and use it.
(This is a real question: I wonder if hand stitched towels really can go in the washing machine, or if I'm just lucky with those two!)

I'm Aussie too and I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Spotlight stores. Otherwise eBay is crawling with these towels!
