Ok, so does everyone want me to get it organized this year this since I do the quilting? I don't mind and I think it might be easier for me to keep track. If so, I can get the post up tomorrow with all of the requirements.

Plants vs Zombies was represented in the quilt this year! So modern games are definitely good to do. Remember this is for charity, so as long as it fits the parameters we set up, anything you do will be fine!

I don't mind sorting it out if you don't want to. Whatever is easier!

Count me in - I joined too late to get in on the last one, but I can't possibly resist this time!

Though I wonder about 16 count. I don't mind ordering online, but why was 16 selected in the first place when 14 and 18 are the more commonly available counts?

Not wanting to jump the gun... but I couldn't help it! Here are two patterns I made last night.

If we can use them, great! If not, I'll probably make them for myself :P

14 count is too large to use reliably for quilting. I am not sure why 16 was chosen over 18, maybe because we had a few notice stitchers that 18 was a touch too small for them. We should probably stick to what we did last year because there are a lot of people who dropped out that may be able to finish their pattern from last year for this year.

Great looking patterns Jadely! What is the first one from?

I would have made more if I hadn't been ill in the first half of the year! :D
Lord Libidan wrote:How about the idea of doing "modern" games in next years quilt? I think the child's play auctions from the last few years always seem to get more money for non-retro games.
Most of us stick to retro games too, it would be good to do something different...
I think a nice mix is fine. Which is why I tried to get some newer ones in there. Although next time we should have a better mix of games if we don't try to go for the themed stuff - that's why this year's ended up being mostly FF and Zelda with some Misc

There was also the square size = 96x96 on 16ct gave 6 inch squares, which was a nice size to work with. As you know, to get that size on 18ct would mean more stitches - extra work that wasn't really necessary. I felt using 16ct gave a nice balance between size and stitches.

Nice patterns jadely! I still have several that I didn't make - would be happy to use or share them next time!

tnitnetny, if you want to set next year's up then please feel free - let me know if you need anything from me :D

I knew I recognized it from somewhere!

Ok, I will go ahead and get a new thread set up tomorrow with all of the requirements and a spreadsheet so we know who is making what squares. I definitely think a couple links, marios, final fantasies are ok, but we should try to make sure there is only one square per game.

Great! This time I'm in, too! If you could make that post sticky, I'm sure it would be a useful reference for everyone. I go through crazy spells when I have to stitch stuff for friends and for work, but I'm free some other times, so the ample notice will help me plan and deliver within the deadline.
