Hello ! RMDC, what do you mean by "a long one like last year's" ? will we maybe have extra time to complete the December Challenge ?

And while I'm here, I have another (silly ?) question : do you vote/decide of a challenge theme, really at the end of each month ? Why not a bit earlier... for example, 1 or 2 weeks before the start of a new challenge ?
+ it would allow challengers to have some more time to find an idea, prepare their patterns, and buy their stuff, to finally start cross stitching at the 1st of the month... but
- you wouldn't be sure that nobody starts cross stitching before the 1st... ?

I think it was last year - I was going through the archives and saw that there was a three-month challenge, I think Nov-Dec-Jan, because the holidays make it tough to finish a piece on a tight deadline.

Personally, I agree that we should decide the themes a bit earlier. I don't see a problem with people stitching a week or two ahead of the challenge; we generally have people who enter a project they've finished which fits the challenge even if they did it before the challenge was announced. Well, it doesn't bother me, at any rate.
Mostly hibernating here. Find me on Twitter @rmdcade.

That's going back! That was Nov 2009 - I actually won that challenge! :D Last year's was just Nov/Dec, because it was the design a logo challenge.
See, the thing is that I feel like some of the challenge themes don't warrant an extended duration - I completely understand about the holidays and all that, hell I've got crafting to do myself! But again, if enough people ask for it then of course it will happen!

I agree, too. I was thinking of a challenge schedule, so that swaps and things like that can fit in too - if there was a more defined timetable, then it would be easier to set things up earlier, if you see what I mean? :D
And I personally don't mind where people's entries come from, although I would like more people to come up with something specifically for the challenge - and I guess setting things up earlier might encourage that a little more! :D

Yes we are! But since we're already a couple of days into December, and Christmas is coming up real soon, does anyone want this challenge to go across January as well? Let me know here and I'll set it away as soon as I know your opinions

Me too, actually. I know I suggested it but if I'm honest I'd prefer the challenge not to spill over into next year. I'll get a few more opinions before I set anything up, though.

Why not to split the difference... Let us have till end of January to finish our December challenge, and propose also a new theme for January, for those who finished the "mash up" challenge earlier ?...
