Lamp from A Christmas Story
Hi everyone! My family tradition is to watch A Christmas Story every year as we decorate our tree. I was wondering if someone could possibly make a pattern (in pdf) of the leg lamp from the movie? It's okay if it's "cartoony" looking, or "true to life" looking, however many colors the maker thinks best, anywhere between about 5 by 7 or 8 by 10. If it could also have the saying, "It's a major award!", that would be awesome. My daughter would have a fit if I stitched her something like that. Thank you!!!

Here ya go! For the text, I added a white back stitch as a border, I think it gives it more of that "A Christmas Story" look, but if you don't feel like doing that much back stitching you could leave it out. Also, I would definitely take a picture with you to the craft store to pick out the color you want for the lamp shade - I didn't like the way any of the golds looked in KGChart, but I know DMC has some nice ones that would be perfect.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have a dmc color card that I can match a gold to, this is so awesome! I'll post a pic after I've stitched it.

I hope you don't mind, but I "tweaked" the pattern a little bit. See, I don't know how to make patterns, but I can graph out changes to already made patterns. So I graphed the shape of your pattern, changing it just a little bit. Then I added in the fishnet stockings and the tassels, and took out some of the black on the shade. Thank you for the original pattern, I never would have been able to do it alone! (I hope I didn't offend you by changing it.)
By the way, how do you make the pictures smaller?

Not at all - I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to make it look like fishnet stockings - yours looks totally awesome!!!Mom-mii wrote: Thank you for the original pattern, I never would have been able to do it alone! (I hope I didn't offend you by changing it.)

I take mine into paint, and under "Stretch / Skew" take it down to whatever percentage I need from the original pic.Mom-mii wrote:By the way, how do you make the pictures smaller?

Thanks for the info, I'll have to get my daughter to show me how to do that. I've never used paint, but she uses it all the time so she probably knows how to change the size of a pic.
