Maybe if it's a tie between items and mashups, we could do Item mashups. LIke, Samus wearing a Tanooki suit?

I think an items mashup is a good idea too. I've made 2 patterns ; one for a "games" mashup, and one more for an "items" mashup... but they are still quite similar I think...
