A couple of halloween stitches

Post by comatosegrl »

Here is a the first cross stitch I did on non-aida like fabric, about 6 or 7 years ago. I didn't know about waste canvas at the time, so I winged it with the fabric I wanted. Its not perfect, but I kinda like how it turned out anyways.

And here is the most recent Halloween one i made, just finished it about a week ago. Some of the thread is glow in the dark but I couldn't get a good picture of it.

Those are very cute! It's funny I was just looking at halloween patterns earlier! I think I want to start one too, of course i dont think it would be ready by this Halloween..

So was it really hard to do the first one on the linen type fabric?
I've seen them in the cross stitch aisle and have always been curious about trying them with regular cross stitch patterns.
Or are they meant for more embroidery type work?

Thanks guys!

Actually the fabric is just a normal bronze shiny fabric, not cross stitch fabric at all. What I did was pin Aida to the back of the fabric, shined a light from the bottom up and stitched it that way. It worked well until I got the fold in the fabric. I personally haven't used linen, but want to try. :D

Really!? It turned out great, i agree with the other comment that using the other fabric really made the pattern texture really pretty and the style really fits with the halloween theme
