Pattern Makers
I'm sure at some point we have all used a pattern maker. Which do you use?

Re: Pattern Makers
I'm one of the very few Mac users on this board. I bought MacStitch a little while back. It's fine, but it's clearly a port of a Windows product. Nothing about it feels very Mac-like and that irks me. Days after I bought it I found out about another application called Stitches and I like it quite a lot better. Having just spent $50-60 for MacStitch, which really does do everything I need it to do, I can't justify dropping another $80 on another app.

For those not quite ready to fork over for PC Stitch or another program, Dark Lilac used to be a good option, but is unfortunately now offline. However, a good free substitute just started up at http://www.myphotostitch.com . You can upload a sprite, and it will convert it into a cross stitch chart. (Disclaimer: I'm the author of that site. I made it since I felt there should be a quick & free chart maker available online. I'm hoping you guys & girls will find it useful )

Re: Pattern Makers
Thanks so much! I've been looking for a free pattern maker. I didn't want to have to spend alot on a program to design my own. I will definitely be using it!MyPhotoStitch wrote:For those not quite ready to fork over for PC Stitch or another program, Dark Lilac used to be a good option, but is unfortunately now offline. Re: Pattern Makers
Glad to hear it, Rozez1982 . Just a reminder, double check the thread colors it suggests, and feel free to substitute others. I did a quick check of the site using the mario image from the program comparison thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=323 , and found that mine came a little orange-ish on the button and purple-ish on the background (by my rough reckoning, I'd guess somewhere in the middle of the pack, quality wise). I'm looking into making it more color accurate, but in the meanwhile just double check/substitute threads as necessary

Re: Pattern Makers
Has anyone had good experiences with any of these on Linux? Perhaps in Wine?
