Re: Introductions
Hi, I'm Vicki from Worcestershire in the UK. I'm 24 and have been cross stitching for as long as i can remember. I love it! I am a secret geek when it comes to computer games, and absolutely love stitching characters from them! Have done a few in the past but a friend of mine saw a small one i did last week and now i have requests (which is exciting stuff!)
Have had a quick snoop around and it looked so good i had to join....
Anyway, hello!

Re: Introductions
Hello all. I'm Nay, 27 from the UK and have been a lurker for a while. Love this site/forum! I've been into things of a crafty nature for a couple of years. I was always a bit artsy at high school, but hated textiles. But in 2009 I met some lovely people from Scotland, New Zealand, America and Japan, who all got me into knitting, crocheting, cross stitch and all sorts. And now craft shops are my favourite places to shop
At the moment I'm working on a Mario x-stitch for my future house and a zombie x-stitch for a friend's birthday. As it's my birthday soon, I have been requesting Hobbycraft gift vouchers/money so I can buy lots of thread and cloth to do the Epic Pokemon Gen 1 pattern
I'm volunteering at a school at the moment, but I finish this week for the summer
and will have lots of time over the holidays, so I thought I may as well spend my birthday money and time wisely
Nice to meet you all!
Nay x

Re: Introductions
Hey there. I'm Poe, from Arizona.
I've been checking out the site for over a year now, and decided to finally break down and get an account on the forums. I mainly lurk in patterns, to get an idea for future projects. I do some perler bead art, and I've recently upgraded to cross-stitch. I'm into all sorts of crafts. I hope I can get a bunch of great ideas from this forum.
Also, I suck at introductions (can you tell?).

Re: Introductions
-waves- I'm rist, from Texas. I found this board via a team on etsy and kind of jumped in before realizing it was a video game oriented forum (my apologies) but I see there's a few non-game subforums so yay!
I've been making pixels/sprites for years now and it recently dawned on me that they'd translate to cross stitching really well (and I've been cross stitching since elementary school so it's even more depressing that it took me this long to put the two together)
I haven't branched out to video games yet (though there are a couple patterns lingering in the back of my mind that I NEED to do) but I've gotten a few patterns done of My Little Pony (FiM AND older generations)
And I don't think I've ever used this many parenthesis in one post before...

Re: Introductions
Hello hello! Boo here - 30, Chi-town, IL. I've been lurking for almost a year now and finally decided that I have done enough legit projects to merit an account. I am into all types of crafts but was originally inspired by the beadsprite folks at an anime con to try my hand at geek crafts. I am with rist there in that I had done Perlers and cross stitch as a kid and only now realized just how easily my beloved video games could translate to this medium. All those missed years of projects! Well, I guess I am trying to make up for it now. I am currently finishing up a (xstitch) Mega vs Metalman hand towel for a friend and then plan on starting an Ultros for myself. Seafood soup!

Current projects:
Leftover swap gifts
HP House Scarves
Secret of Mana charity square
Vid game advent calendar

Hello! I'm a 30 year old mother of two from Texas. I followed the Sprite-Stitch blog for the longest time, then I noticed the forum, and read that for the longest time, and finally decided to start posting. I stitch as often as my babies will let me. My boy is two and my girl just turned 8 months.

"I assure you, Commander, the cards are sufficiently randomized."

Re: Introductions
Hi! I'm Kira. I'm from Rockford, IL but am now living in Chicago with my boyfriend. I just turned 24 and celebrated by seeing Harry Potter (which came out the day after my birthday). I'm an English Major and after I get my Bachelor's, I'm going to get my Master's in Library Science.
<--I know that has nothing to do with cross stitching, but I just figured out that this is what I REALLY want to do, so I'm really excited.
I cross stitched a bit when I was younger thanks to my Grandma teaching me on a 2 week vacation down south. I stopped because we couldn't find any cool patterns when I got back. I picked it back up after moving in with my boyfriend and his family (not a first choice living situation for anyone involved, but his family looked kindly on me and I am very thankful that they welcomed me with open arms and I was treated like part of the family from day one) and saw that his mom cross stitched A LOT (she has some great work) and I decided I wanted to do it again. She helped me pick out a Halloween pattern from the Cross Stitch Magazine and, though a small project, I finished it in a few days. I've been at it ever since. I had been wishing there were more nerdy patterns out there, when I stumbled upon this website. So many patterns you find on websites are so traditional, and not many with nerdy content. The boy and I are very nerdy, and not very traditional. I'm so excited I found this site. He's a huge fan of TMNT (almost every picture from his childhood he is either wearing a TMNT shirt, pjs or holding or doing something else TMNT related.) and I stumbled upon this pattern (which actually led me to this forum) http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=2009 and decided I am going to stitch it for him for Christmas. This is my first project I am gonna do from here, but there are many more I've got planned.
Sorry this is so long.
