I've posted all over the place, but not in the intro thread. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm a small-town girl, currently unemployed and desperately seeking a job - I have a degree, someone hire me! I haven't really been into cross stitch very long - my mom's been doing it FOREVER, but I would always get too frustrated if I put a stitch in the wrong place, and I'd give up. And I couldn't find any patterns that I just really wanted to do. My mom bought HobbyWare Pattern Maker, and I found sprites... when I finally got around to stitching something (the 6 classes from Final Fantasy I) I got hooked.

I've got many interests besides stitching... I love video games (obviously), music (my life would be empty without music), I read a lot (though not lately, I've been stitching my fingers off), and I'm super into astrology (I'm a Virgo/Virgo Rising/Capricorn moon, for anyone else out there who's into it) - though not the malarky they print in newspapers, that's too general - but do yourself a favor and have an honest-to-goodness natal chart reading done (I had one done by someone on another forum, whom I've never met, and it was frighteningly accurate.) I also love cars, my dad and I are working on a 1970 Dodge Challenger. And I love baseball. (Go Braves!) That pretty much sums me up :D

Hey everyone.
I'm not new to the forum, but I haven't been on in a long time.
I came on in 2008, back when I attempted to make Hamma Bead pieces, but that didn't really work out for me.
I have been assured that cross stitch isn't too difficult, so I will be attempting that very soon.
Some of the pieces on here are great, which shows anything is possible. I look forward to spending more time on here and hopefully making some fantastic work for everyone to see :)

Heya!

My name is Ali and I've been cross stitching on and off for 10 years. I'm 26 years old and from Scotland. I'm crazy about large cross stitches and am a massive fan of HAED's ( Heaven And Earth Designs). Both me and my bf love gaming and I look forward to stitching/making charts for people :D.

Ali xx

I'm Sarah, from Arizona. I started cross stitching when I was 11, but got bored with the flowery "old-person" (in my mind at that time...) designs and stopped doing it. Recently got back into when a friend told me about this site.

My fiance scoffed at the idea when I first started. but now that he's seen me stitching Oregon Trail, DS9, and Yoshi patterns, he's decided to try it out. :)

So glad I found this site - it's given me so much inspiration and is (sadly) one of the only place I could find with non-traditional patterns for free on the web. I will definitely be sharing my patterns as I create them!

Hi everyone,

I'm Tess, 26 and live in Australia. Been hanging around here for quite some time but only just made an account. I'm a mother of 2 (5 year old daughter and 2 year old son). I try my hand at anything, right now we are hooked on Perler Beads, I've hot glued a few to the top of our new tv (mario ones :D of course) I have some duck hunt ducks stuck to the wall and my daughter made cinderella and aurora and just yesterday made a princess peach :peach I sew, made a few mario cloth nappies for my son.

I'm a gamer, have been for quite some time. My fav games of all time are smb 3 and Kingdom Hearts. My daughter and I have been giving portal 2 a good go and when the kids go to bed, if I'm not crafting, I'm playing cod on the ps3, sad I know :nod

I think I might try my hand at XS. There are so many things I want to make and I just dont think they would look as good perlerd. I plan to make some kind of mario quilt too. Anyway thats enough from me.

Howdy, I just joined yesterday in order to make a request (that was filled super fast, thanks again carand88!), but I will be sticking around here for sure!
I'm 26 and I work at Michael's Arts & Crafts store :P. I've always really liked pixel art, but never thought I'd be able to do anything myself until I re-discovered perler beads last year. I actually found this site in a google search for new perler projects. (Because who doesn't need another 30 projects to add to their to-do list right?)
My mother used to cross stitch all the time when I was younger, so I used to think (now PLEASE forgive me for saying this) that it was just an "old lady" thing to do...... Oh how wrong I was. After looking through the forums and at everyone wicked x-stitch video game screens and characters, I've fallen in love with an art form I have yet to even try myself.
I'm diving into this one head first, I mean I work at a craft store, so at least I know where else to go for questions (and discounted supplies!).

Hi there! I'm new, I've posted a couple of times, but not here yet! (until now anyway)

I'm really bad at introductions. But my name is Brittany, I'm from Cleveland-area, Ohio. I've cross stitched since I was, oh, like 11? My mom got me into it, she used to do it all the time. And then in middle school, I learned to use plastic canvas. Recently though, I've started beading. Like hand-stringing, making small objects.

My fiance and I are big video game nerds (we're doing a video game theme for our wedding...). My favourite games are Kingdom Hearts, Portal, Left 4 Dead (2), and Pokemon.

I used to work at a video game store, but it didn't work out (wasn't about gaming or customers anymore. :( ) and now I'm working part time as a secretary. So I have lots of time to do some projects (mainly for my wedding). And to catch up on my reading. :)

Hey, everyone! :) I'm Stephi, I'm 20, and I'm a gamer who doesn't actually play most video games (with a few exceptions, I suck at anything requiring a good reaction time, like FPS or platformers - Portal and Battletech: Firestorm are about the only exceptions to that). My favorite games are the two that I just mentioned (and if you've never played Firestorm, look it up and see if there's a pod bay near you, it's epic), Pokemon, Guild Wars, and Minecraft.

I'm an Arts and Technology major at UTD, which means that I'm most likely heading toward a job in the video game industry somewhere. It's an awesome degree that lets you have all the creative fun of an Art major, but you get to play video games for homework.

I've probably at attempted (or in a few cases, plan to attempt as soon as I can afford to do so) nearly every type of crafty thing you can do, up to and including needle-tatting when I was younger. I learned to cross-stitch from my mother when I was in first grade for a Brownie project, but I've only done it once or twice since then. Every couple of months, I get the urge to do something with my hands, and yesterday after I saw a blog post about Steotch, I got hit with the urge to pick up cross-stitching again. I have a couple of cool subversive sampler ideas, but after I saw the Epic Pokemon pattern, I knew that I had to do it. So here I am!

Oh, and I LOVE to bake. I'm starting a baking blog at some point this summer as soon as I work out some issues with my hosting provider.
