I dig the antique look you got from using what looks like a slightly faded tile pic. It's awesome!
We are the Patchwork Pokemon Gym! Fear our needles for we summon our Pokemon with fabric and floss! And we are AWESOME!!

Thanks very much!
I wasn't too sure about it at first, especially when I was doing a pink section lol, but when it got nearer completion I knew it looked ok :D

Re: Blackmageheart's stitchings {Shining Force SOS}

Post by blackmageheart »

The community at Shining Force Central have had a campaign recently to "Save Our Series" - by writing letters of thanks to the original developer of the series, now known as Camelot (also responsible for Golden Sun). People are also encouraged to include a gift or some fanwork, so I decided to do a stitching of one of my favourite characters, a mage called Anri.

I will be sending it to the campaign co-ordinator in a couple of days, who will gather up all the letters and gifts and send them to Camelot in time for the 20th anniversary of the Shining series - I hope they like my gift! :D

That sound like such a cool initiative. ^^
I bet the creators will love all those letters and gifts.

And I'm sure they'll love your stitching. It looks great!

GASP. I love shining force, and Anri is a very touching character. If I were to do one, I'd probably have to do Gong for myself, haha :tease:
Much as I love the SOS project, SEGA is never going to budge on the matter (and honestly, after the way crap went down with Camelot, I don't think they would either). Sad days indeed, since I'd totally adore another tactical SF.

Haha, Gong would be awesome!
I know what you mean about Sega (and Camelot) not budging, but to be honest if all I achieve from this is expressing my thanks to Camelot for 20 years of SF, then I will be happy. Of course, I will be wishing that the SOS campaign reaches someone who cares, lol :D

@ Pandora: thanks so much, I truly hope they do like it!! ^^

Totally agree. I'm submitting a letter myself with my experiences with SF as a kid (it was my first TRPG, and my first RPG in general). I wouldn't have time to do a stitch, I'm too slow.

Sounds great! I think a sincere letter is every bit as good as a gift :)
I haven't written my letter yet but I'll be doing it this weekend. Probably will write about my experiences with it as a kid, too - but I have so many happy memories of it that I'll have to be selective, haha.
My brother and sister are also going to write letters, so it'll be quite a bundle coming from my house :D

After all the charity stitching I decided I should get around to some other stuff :)

Finished a little Phantasy Star piece I started months ago:

And made my favourite Section ID from Phantasy Star Online, "WHITILL" :D

Both are going to be framed either later today or tomorrow, either way I shall put up pictures of them!
