Re: Central Valley & Northen CA Artists for DIY 8bit Art Show

Post by loserkid5150 »

A major update, but not entirely good or bad. The 8bit art show will not be happening this year. But I am not giving up. I plan on holding it in Spring 2011, which means better weather, more time to organize, and rather than holding the event in my house I'll work on getting a proper venue for the show in downtown Modesto. It'll be a more centralized location, more people can come out and they're be food and drinks they can buy. It's all for the better. I'm also still looking for more artists to sign up for the event. My contact e-mail is loserkid5150@yahoo.com.

I'm still planning on bringing the first ever 8bit art show and chip-tune concert to the Central Valley, so stay tuned.

I think this is a good idea to take time and get more organised! Unfortunately, i live in Canada so i can't go :( But i'm asking anyway: Would you be interested in artist outside the country sending you things to display? Or do you only want things make by people who can be there?

That's an awesome idea anyway!
Sorry about my english, french is my primary language!

The original idea was to feature local artists but its seems that there aren't that many in California, or at least not that many contacting me. So I'll seriously consider featuring your work and maybe a few others from out of state (or country). The way I see it is good work is good work regardless where it comes from, so I'll keep you updated :)

Thank you very much for considering participation in the show.

This is a great idea! I live in Turlock and have found this area completely lacking in modern craft stuffs, I hope that you can make it happen and I will let all my friends know about it.

Oh, you live in Turlock? That's really cool to see someone on the board so close to me. Have you ever been to Hand Born? It's a modern craft bazaar held every year in November, I was there with my girlfriend vending handmade crafts. I had some of my LEGO sculptures there too. But that craft show is only once a year which is why I want to do the 8bit art show and my girlfriend wants to do more during the spring and summer too. Stay in touch, that's the only way we can change things around these parts :)

Re: NEED Artists for CA 8bit Art Show!

Post by loserkid5150 »

Big update! I got a collaborator/sound man for the art show and we are in the process of getting a venue for the show. And the show will be held this June!
Run down: this is an art show and concert in Modesto, CA, it will be a one night gig, chiptune musicians will be performing, the venue doesn't take commission and you (the artist) has to be there to set up your work. I'll be there with my LEGO sculptures and managing the event, a painter will be there displaying his fantastic art (he's not on the boards); I'm working on having the event filmed and then released as a DVD-Zine.

We're still looking for about 2-3 more artists. If anyone is serious about displaying and selling their work at my show please contact me at loserkid5150 at yahoo.com

Thanks

Thanks kuja.girl

Just to update (and make clear): We now officially have a venue in downtown Modesto. The show will be held on Saturday June 18.
If an artist comes across this post please contact me before it's too late; time wise and I'm only looking for 1 more artist for the show.
Thanks.
