Cleaning out the thread a bit - If I ever finish that Hyrulian shield i'll post it here, but I don't think I will tbh.
Making this for Charkatosh only at the moment. :)

Apart from working on a couple of quick samplers to send to friends, and finishing off April's sampler, i've asked a dude on redbubble if he'd particularly mind me making a pattern of this:

Hmm. I still haven't heard anything from the artist. SO, i'll share the patterns, we can always take them down if asked. I'll update the first post with the patterns

Also, I looked at conversion charts for floss to wool, and i'll post those in the first post, too.. :D

I've decided to waste it onto a big fleece throw rug I bought on special, this thing is going to be massive lol. including 1" border, it's going to be about 16x26" I'll be going to my local craft store and lay-buying all the stuff I need next week - the waste canvas aint cheap, plus it'll guarantee I get the same dye lots for the colours. I'm going to get about 7-10 of each colour, I think, since it's non divisible, and do it in half stitches because forget cross stitching in wool lol. (though I have seen it done and damn it's perdy, I don' think it would suit this.)

I cheated and used the sewing machine on it's longest stitch to baste the canvas to the blanket.

Ugh. getting the hoop on was HORRIBLE. it's a 14" hoop, so it's kinda flimsy, but I don't want to fight with it too much.. Everything was so stiff! Had to get the fiancee to help me put the hoop on.
Boots is QC'ing the hoop, making sure it's not going to slip off. (he really just wanted to curl up on it, and was quite annoyed when I kept shooing him from sitting on it.)

The grand total of what i've done tonight. about 2 hours broken stitching. I'll be doing more in the morning - it's cold here in the mornings and night, so stitching on a blanket has turned out to be quite cozy aready ;)

I'm also sketching out an idea for some embroidery. It'll be on a different fabric though still Skyrim related.
