3DS: Swapnote (Letter Box) Spotpass capability removed

Apparently there was some trouble with users abusing the photo sharing feature on Spotpass for Swapnote. Now the entire program no longer has access to Spotpass. I learned this by loading up the app tonight only to be greeted by a splash screen thanking me for using the service while it lasted. I hear that the eShop description has details, though I haven't had the heart to check.

I feel almost like I lost a friend. No more seeing you guys send goofy-awesome notes. No more specialty stationery.

I'm super sad about this. I loved getting letters from you guys, and collecting the stationery and stuff.

Just a thought - i'm not sure if you can message through the miiverse that's on the WiiU.. but apparently we'll have the miiverse on our 3ds'es by the end of the year.. so maaaaybe...

It'll be nice if they allow direct messaging without photos, or perhaps forming a group and having public messaging within the group.

*appparently* from what i've seen around tumblr, some people were using it to take 3D pics of their junk, and send it to others, who happened to be kids. Also apparently, there's no way for Nintendo to banhammer those idiots in Swapnote, so they killed it for everyone.

I lied, sorry. You can send messages through Miiverse. Well, there's a messages menu, so I assume you can. I don't have any Wii U friends at the moment

woah that stinks. if they have some form of messaging that comes back can i be in the group lol. my 3ds friend code is listed in the forum with all the other ones. probably towards the end cuz i just put in in there. lol
