Pattern's back

Post by blooddha »

Hi,
I was wondering if some people would post a picture of their pattern's back (cross stitch) ? I'd like to see compare my work's back with people's, to see if i'm doing well or not :)
Thanks !

here's a part of the back of my "epic pokemon pattern" project:

Basically, if you can get the back of your stitches to be up and down as much as you can, your set, and as you can see in mine, I HATE to tuck my thread so I " jump" across the fabric and leave thread hanging when I'm done with it so I can sttich over it later, and not have to tuck it in.
Hape that helps!

Nintandrew, that would drive me crazy!
Anyway, my works do not have the neatest backs ever but there is definitely a difference between a piece with a lot of colours:

and one with a lot less:

Zelda is clearly a mess as colours are more sporadic.

I dont see how you dont cut your thread >.< I always loop my extra hang thread back into more stitches so I get frustrated and cut it out!

Holy crap. All your project backs look so nice! I'd probably get laughed at for how horrible mine are. :sorry: (I'm glad to see others 'jumping' across to use the same colour. I never got into going through a row just to get to where I needed to be.)

You should post yours too jeala, it can't be any worse than my mom's (I hope she doesn't see this), plus on my project, I usually do the colors with the least amount of stitches last to help keep me from misscounting, and those stitches are usually far apart so I have to "jump" plus I usually end up stitching so tight its' a chore to get the needle through the backs.
I like this topic.

I like a neat back too :D I think it is about the enjoyment of a craft rather than the neatness
