I have five bobbin boxes and all but one is filled completely with bobbins of thread. The bobbins are in order by number and they go through the boxes numerically, for example Box 1 has 100s to 300s, etc. And for the record, the thread comes off the bobbin a bit kinky, but the kinks don't linger for long and it never shows in my work.
I also keep the thread I'm using for multiple projects in a smaller bobbin box, maybe half or a third of the size of a normal bobbin box and I keep all my needles and extra bobbins in that. I also label the thread sections in the box according to project so it's not nearly as confusing. I would like to try one of those travel cases but I'm afraid I'd need to store all my thread in a completely different way to do so and I'm not sure I'm dedicated enough for that.
My main organizational issue is that I really don't have any storage space for the bobbin boxes themselves so they're just kind of scattered all over my living room and it's a bit of a mess to store my Aida, so I need to figure something out quick before my boyfriend rages and tosses everything in the Friday trash, lol. Off to the Container store I goooo.
