Download the file, when you have done so change the extension from .download to .exe - that should sort it for you :D

In my experience it's a thing that affects Mozilla based browsers, ie FireFox, etc. It used to be an extension that was used for partially completed downloads in a Mozilla browser but in recent times has been used more deliberately.
Doesn't seem to be deliberate in this case, since some people have no problems and some do. I get the .download and I'm on Chrome, but I know when I first downloaded it I was on IE7 and got the .exe >_>

Anyways, changing the extension seems to work fine, if anyone has any problems after doing so report back here and we'll get some troubleshooting going :D

EDIT: Just want to add that Chrome isn't a Mozilla based browser (it's WebKit) and does have this .download trouble - perhaps there's something that both browser types have that causes this :banghead:

EDIT: Also, does anyone have this trouble with Apple browsers?

Ahhh, I had a feeling Firefox wouldn't be having this specific problem. As I said, the .download extension was a feature of Mozilla browsers, but I also think that said feature doesn't apply here.

If anyone else has time could they try and download the .exe, then post their OS, browser and download result please? Just a few different ones should be enough to get an idea of the problem :)

Make it easy on yourself and ask them to post it as a photo when doing a request. Saves you a lot of trouble.
