My brother is smart.

Post by starrley »

He just started a new blog: http://thestarrlab.blogspot.com/
I don't understand all of it, but I'm sure there's plenty of you on here who will. (I'm looking at you, BMH, RMDC, kuja.girl, servo, and plenty of others.)
Everything my brother does is self taught; he didn't get to go to college. He's hoping to get into robotics.
I just wanted to share. I'm proud of him. :)

I am not an engineer (no-way, no-how!) but this is pretty neat. Sounds like your brother is a maker at heart! You should get him to collaborate with you on an e-textile project! (they are on my to-do list too).

Holy crap, your bro IS smart! That's all self-taught? Quite impressive.
And e-textiles are just full of awesomeness - you should definitely think about doing that. :)

I actually don't know much about electronics - honestly, most of what I know comes from my daughter's Snap Circuit set - but I know enough to be impressed. :nod I'm going to keep up with his blog just to learn more. I'm always super-impressed with self-taught skill.
Mostly hibernating here. Find me on Twitter @rmdcade.

Wow, really impressive!!

Self-taught is the best way to learn IMO. And you're always more proud of yourself when you learned it all by yourself. In college I went to maybe 30% of the actual class, I would just learn by myself at home with the books and notes. And I got a 4.03/4.33 GPA in a science field and I'm far to be a genius, so clearly self-teaching works wonderfully!!

I took a look at it, but it all went right over my head. Looks very impressive, especially for being self-taught. :nod

It is really impressive to etch your own PCB. And to learn about all of that on your own is amazing!

I would take the easy way and send the design to a prototyping place to make the board for me. I'll definitely be following along to see how the project goes. :clapping:
