I am getting married!!!!

Thank you everyone!! We thought about the medieval theme but decided to get married in Vegas's botanical gardens. I am worried I am not going to be able to hold my own with what I want with my family.

Congrats! Tell your family to stuff it.. This is your and your SO's day not theirs. They are there to witness the ceremony and celebrate your union, and to help you where you ask for it, not to dictate what you do. You and your SO are both grown ups who don't need told what to do by your families, so tell them to butt out unless you ask for help.

You can always threaten to ban them from the wedding, that would probably shut them up pretty sharpish

This is very true. I just need to get into the mind set that this is my day and what I want is what is going to happen.

Your other option is to put those most likely to butt in in charge of something small that won't impact on what you want- like making sure the invitations get addressed and sent out early enough, or researching cars to take you to and from the venue. That way they feel special, helpful, and are less likely to feel the need to put their stamp on your day.

Marriage is awesome!

botanical gardens made me remember a news article I saw a few years back about a garden that had a rare flower nicknamed the corpse flower that bloomed every ten or so years. apparently the flower was aptly named due to the smell it emitted.

Probably not a problem, but I say check out the flowers before you go as a just in case measure. ^_^
