I love the Morph Ball one! It looks so funky and stylized, yet still recognizable!

Re: WIP Video Game Quilt
My current plan for the FFXI ones are to do the 3 kingdoms flags (Windy, Sandy and Bastok) but I'm in the needing more material and early stages of those.
Since we actually play quite a bit of FF games.. I am also planning a Moogle, a Chocobo and a Tonberry. The Moogle and Chocobo are already cut, I just need to get to the stitching on the Moogle to finish him up.
Here's an unstitched version of him so far:

At the risk of being slightly less awesome... the majority of it is machine stitching. I do however have a few things that I am doing by hand, such as the detail triforce on the mouth of the ocarina and the eyes on the chocobo and link's eyes.
Which here's the Ocarina with mouthpiece detail:

Re: WIP Video Game Quilt
Got one more done, even though I had to swap to my mother's old machine. The bobbin winder and reverse stitch are MIA but it will still sew a fine stitch. My rather cheap new one is now an overgrown bobbin winder.
Metroid:

If I did my math right I should end up with 24 squares, of which I have 2 left to pick out a design (On Pikmin and one Katamari related... though I could just pick another game and do 2 squares of that too @.@) and one being drawn by a good friend (special our main chars in wow square that's a secret to the bf!)
Which leaves me with 4x6 10 inch squares with 2 inch sashing between the squares for a total size of 50 by 74. Which is slightly smaller than twin size but sounds to me an ok size for sitting by the TV.

I love it so far!
Machine quilting it doesn't make it any less, it is still completely amazingly awesome ^_^
I am in love with the zerg block and the mog block, I can't wait to see the chocobo one
How are you planning on finishing the quilting? will you be doing a pattern over the blocks, or staight line quilting?

Re: WIP Video Game Quilt
I have not yet decided on how to finish it. Just mostly working on getting the blocks done first.
Had a major setback with the new sewing machine basically deciding thread was for bird nesting.... (it is a few years old cheap Singer) so I tried to swap to my mother's old machine.....

Which sews.. but after stitching a bunch of one square its kind of uneven and I will need to redo that square because it makes it a bit puckery.
However, on the plus side the bf has suggested we buy a new sewing machine so... I guess that's a plus!!
Meanwhile I'm cutting and sticking (yay interfacing!) my pieces I've got planned so when I get the new machine its just stitching to do!
Here's some un-stitched shots (with my not o great windy square)
