Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
I'd say don't worry too much. I can recall way back at the start of the year, when measuring out my pokemon hg/ss patch, that 96 stitches on 16 count doesn't equal 6 inches exactly. I even compared it against 18 count and recounted and remeasured the stitches so many times to be sure. I was worried initially, but brushed it off, assuming that eveyone else's must be the same.
Although, I'll admit that this may have me a little paranoid again.

Myu, it is up to you if you want to send them or not. I counted the squares in the inch and it does look like 18 count, but it could have been tightened up with your stitchings. Fabric is finicky. If you decide to send them to me anyways and I couldn't use them for the quilt, I could use them for 2 throw pillows and include them with the quilt (s).
But if you want to keep them, you could do that too.

Myu, and everyone else - don't worry about it. To me, that looks like 16ct. Sometimes the aidas are slightly different in their measurements. I think if that was 18ct it'd be much smaller, probably closer to 5 inches. My 16ct squares are usually 6" or just less, because of the aida I use for it.

Aww, I thought I did that pattern, lolMyu wrote:A big thanks to Servotron who made the pattern for the Parodius square and I have to say that you did a wonderful job!

if it was done on 18 count it would be 5.3" and Myu's is more like 5.75"... Count me in the scared/paranoid section now. Something funky happened but hopefully a wash will work it out.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
As I said before some aidas are different in their measurements. Like sometimes I'll get some that is supposed to be 16ct, but if I measure up then it's something weird like 16.5, 17 or even 15 holes per inch. Better quality aida usually measures up better, in my experience.kuja.girl wrote:if it was done on 18 count it would be 5.3" and Myu's is more like 5.75"... But mostly a wash and a stretch will sort it out, I think.
And last year I don't think there was a problem, even though my squares ended up being all different sizes! (Only slightly, though. XD)

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
Correct. That is why I rewash and iron/stretch all of the squares before the final cutting. If you look at last years quilt closely, there were 2 squares that were about 1/4 inch smaller than the others and you can see a little of the aida. It is something that can't be helped when working with different cross stitch squares.
I will play with it and make it work. And like I said, if it doesn't, than we have pillows!

You're welcome =) I'm glad it got there safely!tnitnetny wrote:Home from work and another square arrived today. Got the Earthworm Jim square from Stardrifter!! Also, thanks for the contribution to fabric. I really appreciate it. For the three other people that sent money too, I know I probably thanked you with an email or message, but thank you again. I really do appreciate it.
