Re: Charity Quilt(s) 2013
So with having to take over my mom's Zuma square I don't think I'm going to have enough time to complete the Sailor Moon Fighter square I had originally signed up for as my second for this year. I'm putting it up for grabs if someone would like to do it for this year, if no one is interested I'll just save the pattern for next year. Sorry!
The Zuma's Revenge square is driving me CRAZY!! I've never worked with this many colors before and having to change colors all the time is making me go crosseyed! I don't know how you guys work with so many colors all the time.

Re: Charity Quilt(s) 2013
I'd like to ask for help to pick colors for my piece.
I really don't know what to do for the 5 different blues for the sky. Obviously, the most prominent blue should be 996, but after that, what should I pick for the remaining 4 blues? 996 has such a specific hue, only 995 has the same hue and it's too dark... I thought maybe I should go with 995, then 996, then 3846 and the remaining 2 blues I could find something fitting, but once again, I really find 995 to be too dark for a sky.
I wished DMC would create more blues... There's really a poor choice for bold type blues.
Anybody has any idea what I could do??

If you are not happy with DMC's blue selection you could always try anchor or another brand. Colour selection can be frustrating at times, I am always hesitant to let KG chart choose for me.Lileya wrote:

I do have some anchor floss, but not enough to complete the square. And if I order it online, it will take 3-4 weeks to receive it and it never looks the same as on the computer screen, so it's a risk for take. I was hoping to be able to complete this with just DMC.icedragonj wrote:If you are not happy with DMC's blue selection you could always try anchor or another brand. 996 would be a perfect main color, then i would suggest 3845 and 3846 for the "dark" cloud bits and 827 and 828 for the "light bits". Comparing the thread in person, they look good. If you want i can post a pic sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I am willing to help out on a square. But with it being so late into this it will have to be something with not too much details. Just let me know if I can help anyone.

Next WIP of my mario kart square. I started my job this week so I haven't had any free time
Plus side, salary.
I do want to finish this before July though so I can send it to the US address.
I had to switch off of the road... too much 317.

No need to take a picture! I have a full set of DMC floss.samarin wrote:996 would be a perfect main color, then i would suggest 3845 and 3846 for the "dark" cloud bits and 827 and 828 for the "light bits". I can't seem to find my 827 tonight, but 828 is a really good idea. For 3845, I'm not sure. I feel it looks a little bit off with 996. But I will try stitching it all on a scrap piece of fabric, see how it looks together. Sometimes it looks weird holding the floss together in your hands, but once stitched, it looks awesome.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I think I'm gonna go with 996, 3845, 3846, 828 and 747. It's not perfect but it should do the trick. Thank you very much for your help samarin, I really appreciate it!samarin wrote:yeah, im finding that a lot with my pokemon, the colors seem not to make sense but when you look at the whole thing it works for some odd reason
