I recently got married (yay!) and as I live on a cruise ship, I couldn't do too much in the way of DIY for my wedding. I decided early on to cross stitch the centerpieces for the tables at the reception.
This post (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15088) was written when I thought I ruined these pieces. I was very distraught. Again, vinegar is the best!
Anyway, now that the wedding and honeymoon are over, and we've settled into our first week of work, I can finally post them! Picked a bunch of quotes from books and moves that we both liked, and then he as I sat down and whittled the list down to 8, because 8 tables.
The first four:
From Neil Gaimen's Sandman series:

And one more! Surprise stitch for my husband! He and everyone on the ship watched me stitch the centerpieces. But no one saw me do this sampler for Frank. I just wish I'd gotten it done in time for that "It's dangerous to go alone" challenge lol
WOW.
Everything you make is so fantastic. What a lot of stitching! And you live on a cruise ship? How cool. It's awesome that you made all this for your wedding.
I'm so impressed that this is going straight on the blog.
"I assure you, Commander, the cards are sufficiently randomized."
Current projects:
Sherlock wallpaper stitch
Quilting
Crocheting

Thank you! I love that this work is appreciated by people who do it too (not that my guests didn't enjoy them).
And yes, I work on a ship for about 6 months at a time, in the theatre department. I just started another contract.

Thanks I'm glad you like the keychains still and life is good, though I'll start to look for a land-based job pretty soon in the future
Cool Centerpieces and Congrats! I like the little details each one contains relating back to the medium its from. Love the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, although The Graveyard Book is probably my favorite of his (If you like his work, The Ocean at the End of the Lane was a good short story).
