That's a really cute kitty!!!

I stepped on the scale this morning, and realized that I have hit just under a 40 pound weight loss. I'm just ten pounds away from the weight that I was, when I discovered that I was pregnant for my son. He's seven years old.

My wedding dress also *almost* zips all the way up.

I'm almost finished stitching the longest WIP evar, which means I will be able to start my Mario project soon! :Mario :Luigi :mush :1up

My favourite books are amongst three different series by three different author. I have never liked any book like the ones in these three series. Ones that I go back to again and again. Ones that got me through a hell of a lot and taught me a lot and inspired me to write myself.
These three series are;
Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett
The Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix
Matthew Shardlake series by CJ Sansom

All of these I love soooo much. All of them had finished and I had come to terms with that fact and ever since I've been waiting for another author and another series to hug my life like these have.

But then this weekend something amazing and magical happened.
All 3 of these authors have announced new books for their respective series!!!!!
A new Tiffany Achong book called 'The Shepherds Crown'
A new Old Kingdom book called 'Clariel'
A new Shardlake book called' Lamentation'

Its like they all knew of my struggle and all wanted to keep me going until I find that new author and series to add to the family.

I can't even describe how happy I am. It's a bit stupid that I care so much about this news and embarrassing that I really cried tears of joy at the news of a new Shardlake book. And a bit sad that I'm wiggling with excitement that Garth Nix is coming to our literature festival in October to talk about his new book.

I'm getting all emotional again, sorry, I am so happy...

We're missing people in the second picture because they decided to run it and the rest of us walked. It was my first 5K (though they took away a mile for some reason) and I had a great time. Legs started hurting, but I pushed through it. I passed some people and wasn't dead last. That's a win in my book. :yahoo:

Well done! You should be proud of yourself for getting through the whole thing! I also did a 5k last month and really enjoyed it, but I walk a lot so I found it quite easy. Thinking of doing 10k next time! Do you have plans to do more of these?

Thanks! It was very fun. They had a DJ at the beginning which really got your blood pumping. All the participants were really nice. They would take pictures for you, and we had random conversations along the way with random people.

I do want to do another one. I'm kind of disappointed that it wasn't a full 5K (5K=3.1 miles, and we only did 2.19 miles). Sort of makes me feel like I didn't actually do a 5K, but ah well. My leg hurt, but I managed to stop and stretch it a few times, so it never got to the point where I couldn't walk on it. It was also nice to have my mom and friends walk with me, that helped to push me through as well.

Could have gone the other way like mine, which ended up 7.1K according to my GPS. I'm sure the distance between the K markers were not the same!

Road races for charity are notoriously bad at measuring distance.
Congrats, though, a race is a race. I haven't run a 5K in years. I can't get out of bed in the morning to run that short of a distance.

I think if they had stuck to the map they showed online, it would have been fine, but they didn't. The route was completely different which threw us off. Oh well, it's over and done with. I'm sure I'll do another in the future, but I gotta train better. lol.
