I've been thinking about selling some of my stuff on eBay or Etsy, but I'm not sure. There's the sentimental value that for some of the stuff I don't want to let go of yet, but there's also the money part, which wouldn't hurt. I'd be more likely to part with the Pokemon stitchings I've done though, or maybe even the Link to the Past title screen or the World 8 map, but I dunno yet hahacakester wrote:This is bloody amazing, I'd pay loads for this if it was up for sale, my girlfriend would kill me but it'd be worth it!
Great job, I wish I had the time to get projects like this done.

its hard to price larger cross stitch project due to the amount of time put into it.....the smaller stuff would be easier though

Yeah. Like I do give myself a bit more credit than I should, so in my mind, like the Pokemon ones would be about 40 bucks, this one I think if I did, I'd sell it for 500. But then again, I don't know if that's too much, or not enough for all the labor put into it.Dragoniron7 wrote:its hard to price larger cross stitch project due to the amount of time put into it.....the smaller stuff would be easier though
Btw, I went through the entire thread and replaced all the WIP pictures with the finished one (deleting WIP pics off my photobucket account). If anyone somehow actually wants the WIP shots, just message me.

good luck. my findings were that nobody was willing to pay even close to the amount of time you worked on it...problem is people are used to paying prices based on factory made products or handmade products coming from sweatshops. to get some to buy a cross stitching you'd have to charge like $1 an hour for your time...and in developed countries it just doesnt make sense.Blink190 wrote:I've been thinking about selling some of my stuff on eBay or Etsy, but I'm not sure.

Ouch. If that's the case, then I'm perfectly content with hanging my finished work in my room. : Pjohloh wrote:good luck. my findings were that nobody was willing to pay even close to the amount of time you worked on it...problem is people are used to paying prices based on factory made products or handmade products coming from sweatshops. to get some to buy a cross stitching you'd have to charge like $1 an hour for your time...and in developed countries it just doesnt make sense.Blink190 wrote:I've been thinking about selling some of my stuff on eBay or Etsy, but I'm not sure.

Some progress made on my version of the map:

It feels good to finally see the end of it, even though it's still a lot of work left.

Yeah i looked into selling stuff like keyring's and fridge magnets, problem is it seems like people wont spend more than a few dollars on one - which is fair enough because after all it is only something small but they still take a good few hours to make
Still i find they make absolutely brilliant presents because all the people i've given them too appreciate that you spent time, not only money on making them something

Only problem is i've only made 2 things for myself so far and given away about 9 as presents!!!
Your stitching looks fantastic, you going to get it framed?

Yeah. I'm gonna send it to Greece with my grandma in 2 weeks, have her frame it there for way cheaper, and then my grandpa will bring it back with him a few weeks later. I think I'm also gonna send some of my other stuff with them in that case, I just dunno which ones yet. Maybe the Oracle of Ages map, and the Golden Sun character portraits, but it's a little too early for that just yet.
As for giving stuff away as presents, the sentimentality of everything I've worked on makes it hard for me to give them away. I've made 3 things as presents, and I kinda wish I had them back
