I also like the idea mentioned about dying a piece of white fabric blue so the water doesn't take so long. However, I've never dyed a piece of aida cloth before. I wouldn't know where to start... What brand and color of dye would I need? Where would I find it? How do I go about dying it? Any tips would be very much appreciated!!
It takes a bit of time, but it worked out well the last time i did it. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2269&st=0&sk=t&sd=a ... p&start=77
I used a packet of Tulip - Aqua powder and just followed the instructions on the packet. Used a plastic paint bucket and stirred the hot water/dye with a big metal cooking spoon. It smells pretty bad, but I just got in front of the TV and stirred for however long it said. I then rinsed it in cold water in the sink and let it drip dry in the garage.
