I think this quilt (or 2? seems like we have a lot of patches!) is going to be awesome. Everyone's work has been fantastic and every day I come home and see my unfinished Spyro patch I feel pumped about getting it done.
I posted a WIP shot of the patch on Facebook and had a ton of comments from friends and family - is there an official webpage of the charity auction this will go to that I could post as well?

Starting to think there should be!
The closest thing I can think of other than this thread is the bit on our dA group that's only for the charity pieces...but not everyone's on dA. So maybe we should think about setting something up?

I'm going to finish my yoshi island one here in about an hour and then redo a spot on a kirby one, and after that I will have 4 complete with 2 to go. :yahoo:

The next few days i have got to do everything for my little girls rainbow themed party, shes turning 4 and there's a ton of food prep! :swoon:

But I should def be able to get the other 2 done within a month and sent to t no later than the 25th of Aug. so it makes it there in time.

I can't wait til they are all done so I can post pics of them all! :yahoo:

Not that you need any more food to bake, but a friend of mine made these a while back and I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting for a rainbow-related party to make them for!

It depends on how many quilts we make. If we only make one, it is sent to the Penny Arcade dinner and we have to somehow figure out after how much money it was sold for.

If we have more than one quilt, than they are sold through Ebay through the Child's Play charity so the money is sent directly to them. That is how they told me last year they would like it to be done. If we are able to auction one off, I am sure we will be able to generate a lot of publicity for it on websites, video game news outlets, and our own sites. :D

Ah well, I'll just keep posting "updates" on Facebook to keep people interested at least. I just have a bunch of yellow to go on the Spyro patch but I also have a final paper and a presentation to prepare for and write next week so I'm not expecting to get very far until that's over...

I think we should definatly contact LOTS of websites and, even print magazines. If send out "press kits" with photos and a write up about the project they might just publish it. Sometimes they need something extra to fill in empty spots ;) I can help with this when we reach this point.

The problem is, we can only do this if we have multiple quilts. If we only have one quilt, we donate it to the dinner auction for Penny Arcade and there isn't much we can do for publicity because they take care of all of that.

We can't make any decisions on anything until I get all of the squares and we see how many we have.
