Disney Dreams: Beauty and the Beast FINISH! 3/2/2014

A tad dodgy that the floss is off in a kit! I'm glad the manufacturer didn't slug you for getting the right floss. Also, I like seeing your weekly updates. This is such a gorgeous kit (still p*ssed I can't get it in Australia!) so I really like seeing it come together!

That's great! I hope you do get it. If you do, feel free to post your pictures here, too! And one big tip before you start, or at least close to the beginning: Go through all of the floss and make sure you have enough of every color and that the colors look right. I had one that was supposed to be a 'light peach pink' that was definitely a dark blue, and one color that I only had 10 out of the 20 strands it said I needed. Since the colors aren't DMC, if you find any discrepancies let me know and I'll tell you how to get a hold of the manufacturer, they were great in getting me the floss I needed and it didn't cost anything. If I find any other weird things I will let you know! Oh! And be sure to find a coupon to use at Hobby Lobby, usually you can print one off that's 40% off Good luck!

I ended up getting the kinkade cinderella castle kit. They were fresh out of Beauty and the Beast... I did however, check all the threads making sure they were all within they're said colors.
Hopefully I'll be starting it this week at some point!

Yay! The Cinderella kit is a really pretty one, too. I also have the Snow White one, but I don't want to even start it until I am done with Beauty and the Beast, because I'm afraid I will get too distracted and end up not finishing either one. I'm glad it has all the right floss, too. Mine must have been some sort of a fluke or something, because I have talked to a couple of other people and no one else had any problems with it. Weird. Well I look forward to seeing your progress on Cinderella!

Ten Weeks:
Alrighty! This was a good week - I reached the left side of the picture, finished the sky, and did the flying thing! I like to wait for all of the backstitching until the end because I think it's fun to all at once see how the picture comes together, so it's kind of a weird floating thing right now. Still though, I am DONE with the sky! Very, very excited about that!

This totally made me want kits, but Joann's won't let me order because I don't live in the States. LUCKILY I just found out my Michaels isn't going to be carrying cross stitch stuff, but the girl there told me there was a store in Edmonton that specializes in Cross stitch, so I went there on my lunch break, and a) It's a block from my work, they have overdyed cloth and soooo many colours of cloth and b) the owner ordered me a bunch of the Disney cross stitch kits. So, I get to do a Disney kit AND support local business!

Eleven Weeks:
So, I didn't get nearly as much done this week as I wanted to, as we have had a few things happen that have changed my stitching schedule quite a bit.
All that aside, I was able to start on stuff that WASN'T SKY this week! I got the cross stitching done for the gargoyle and some of the greenery and flowers. Again, I like to save all of my backstitching for the very end, so it's just the base stitches for now. It's exciting to be moving on and adding some variety. I think my plan will be to work down the left side and then across, since that will work well with how I have it set up on my scroll frame. Here is the picture for this week! (sorry it's a day late)

I figure I have right around 20,000 stitches done so far, so I am a little less than 1/3 of the way done.
