It'll be really hard to do modern games like that...

I totally second that these are some options for the kirby square i want to do but I don't know if they'll meet this specific rule.

Would this Kingdom Hearts Pattern be alright?

I'm not sure how it will turn out when all is said and done as this is my first attempt at a pattern that isn't sprite based. And I'll be sure to fill in all the blank with white thread.
I'm actially signed up on the sheet fort kingdom hearts....but I can do kh:368/2days instead if you want to do the original! Square looks great btw! just let me know and I'll change on the spreadsheet!

Also all you others out there...I have kirby in general but once I decide on my actual square I will let you know which game it was from so all the others are up for grabs!

But now, I don't know which one to choose. Would you rather pick the lighter one or the darker one?
I'm with Servo and tnitnetny - darker one is better!

Wouldn't have said it was a rule as such...since well placed sprites on a good background is acceptable too. As long as the thing you are doing actually comes from the chosen game (scene, sprite, whatever) then I don't really see a problem. And I love your Kirby choices!

Ack! I thought I put down Kingdom Hearts 2 on the sheet.. >> I knew I should of double checked other people's game list before coming up with a pattern. Could I do Kingdom Hearts 2 or do you have your heart set on it? I'm sure I could come up with something else, just might take me some time to think of something.

Then darker lenneth it is! Thank you all for your answers!

I've already ordered some Aida fabric. I always stitch tiny tiny stitches on evenweave or linen but they are way bigger on Aida. It feels like I'm using a magnifying glass, that's kinda strange! :D
WIPs :

Blackmageheart is right, it is more so we there is absolutely no fan art, crestive licenses, etc. If the sprites come right from the game unadjusted then those are all fine, just make sure you sepcify which game they are from on the spreadsheet so there isn't a repeat.

So actually here's what I got! the first 3 are from KH:Chain of memories. the last 2 are from KH:Re:coded. Let me know if these are ok or if you have a pref on which one i do.
I'm personally partial to the heartless one or the one of riku in his heartless get up.
