Hypnotoad from Futurama

Post by scribbleboy »

This was pretty much my first project (aside from a tiny christmas card) so overall I am pretty proud of it. I somehow added an extra row in the back leg, but didn't notice it until ages later though :/

I don't like how the outline looks on his feet..and I was contemplating maybe painting the aida black, or would backstitching help? I don't know :/

I got the pattern from viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1749

I think it looks great! :D Hypnotoad is one of my finace's favorite Futurama characters.
Were you asking about how you should fill in the background?
I think it's too late to color the background since you don't want to accidentally mess up your finished stitches
Sometimes I just like to do a half stitch for the background, but full stitches always looks the nicest.
I usually just leave the background the way it is and iron the whole thing out and put it in a frame.
Finished stitchings always look even better in a frame in my opinion
WIP's:
Jessica Rabbit
Mordecai and Rigby
Spongebob
(Secret Game) K.H. Stained Glass

Love this! My husband wants me to stitch this for him now >.<
Since the toad is so dark I don't personally think that a black background would be good.. He would blend in to the background too much. I would just leave it on white and frame it. If you do decide to stitch the background I would do something light so the toad still stands out enough.

I totally missed the part about background advice!
it's too late for this particular piece but I have a suggestion: Tie-dye.
