This was a triumph!
All in all, there's roughly 13,000 beads and took around 15-20 hours on/off to assemble. It includes one trusty companion cube, a coupon for one free cake (redeemable at Aperture Laboratories), a Companion Cube coaster, and an Aperture Science mug(http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/mugs/c7cc/) not pictured.
I'm not too happy with how the corners turned out but I'm pretty confident I'd be able to assemble it a whole lot better a second time around (that's if I'm willing to torture myself once more.)
Many thanks to this guy for the original idea (check out his other work too, it's pretty awesome): http://parlplattor.blogspot.com/2010/01 ... s-lie.html
and to triplesixx for the coupon deviation: http://triplesixx.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1yrygr
That's awesome!! not played Portal myself, but spent a good few hours watching my housemates play it. it looks so great!
Current Projects:
Link and Triforce Square = 56% complete.
Kanto Map = 60% complete.
Hetalia sprites for Xmas presents. Other projects will be put on hold until these are done. Shouldn't take long though. :3
Pity the cake is a lie - since a slice of perler chocolate cake would have been perfect to add to the box. Oooh it still works, since it's not really cake! The cake is still a lie!
But nice work. That is really awesome.
We are the Patchwork Pokemon Gym! Fear our needles for we summon our Pokemon with fabric and floss! And we are AWESOME!!
