3 zelda boxes/banks and a warhol-ish goomba set

Post by miss_j_bean »

Hi, longtime lurker, first time poster. I just found the forums which is silly since i've been checking this site almost daily for many months.
I wanted to share a few things I made, perhaps to inspire others and to also ask if any of these are something I should try putting on etsy or something like that. Sorry for the writing on the pictures, I posted them on my facebook and I'm always paranoid about people stealing my pictures.

Here is the first box I made (I use it to hold "box tops for education") I redid the lid design after, the original in the pic just wasn't very good.

Here is the second box I made (my personal favorite and I use it to hold campbell's labels)

Here is the third box - it was technically a commissioned piece.

And finally, the goomba series. I made them to be coasters but ended up hanging them on the wall.

I signed up for an etsy account but haven't listed anything. Has anyone else used it and had it work well? I do more sewing stuff, the perler beads are something new so I could branch into something besides framed pictures, bookmarks, and towels.

cool boxes, how do you stick them together? it looks pretty complicated.

the box i made, i added a black box all the way around, and removed every other one, and then on the other sides, i alternated. it takes a little bit of thinking, and figuring, but it ends up fitting together really well, and you don't need any glue.

Those are amazing! I've been wanting to make a box of some sort out of perlers without glue. I'll have to try your technique. That looks so cool! Things like that would make great gifts.

I build up an extra layer on the base that's two beads shorter (or one bead shorter all the way around if that makes more sense) and then I use hot glue to glue the edges. If it doesn't come out right, i let it cool a little, pull it off, and try again
