Osaka's Bead Sprites
Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2009 7:17 am
Hello everyone! Long time reader, first time poster! I started doing bead sprites in about May of this year, and managed to crank out a decent amount. But, I went to Japan to work in July, and my tens of thousands of beads sadly didn't make the trip :< My family keeps forgetting to mail them to me, too XP But, I'll be coming back to the USA in a few weeks, and this time, those babies are coming to Japan with me. I've been dyyyying to make sprites for months, so expect a lot when I get back
I wanted to share what I have accomplished with you guys though ^_^ These are some of my favorite ones that I've done. You might notice that my sprites look a bit different, and that is do to the fact that I iron them so that there's no holes, or close to no holes. Although, despite my best efforts, some colors just don't iron very (like Toothpaste, argh!), so sometimes it's uneven. No matter what color though, I found this works better on small ones, but not as much with big ones and I learned through trial and error. I just don't like the perforated look as much as I do when the holes are filled in. I'd like to hear your opinions on it, though ^^ Maybe when I get back into the swing of things, I'll try other ironing methods. I gladly appreciate any suggestions, as I'll be taking commissions for these when I come back to Japan for the fine peoples of Den Den Town, Osaka
These are some of my favorites that I did:

Glass Joe from Punch-Out!!

Starman from Earthbound

Monsta from Puzzle Bobble

King Dedede from Kirby (I forget which Kirby XD)

Samus from Super Metroid
The rest can be seen at my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/osakasbeadsprites/
Thanks for looking (^w^)v
