Wow, thanks so much starrley for the spotlight! It always feels good when someone takes a liking to something you made. I've got lot's of ideas for bigger, more intricate projects and I'll make sure to post the pics here!

Re: Framed Perler bead projects
Thanks friend! Well, having a wife, 2 kids and a full time job really messes with the calculation haha. I was still pretty green when I made it so I had to experiment a bit, fail at a few things and the trees nearly made me quite. From start to finish close to a month, but of course I couldn't dedicate all my waking hours to it. Funny (and horrible) little story about this one is that once I completed all the objects and characters, I started building the scene. I laid the background and built all the stands and glued everything down, smiling like an idiot the whole time thinking how awesome it was turning out...Not realizing that I attached everything to the backboard (which is the back of the frame), UPSIDE DOWN.
Needless to say when I was finished and ready to hang it up, the rings for the frame wire were at the bottom and my stupid grin turned to a look of pure sadness lol. Had to tear the whole thing apart and make a new print ($30.00 down the drain) then put it all back together again. Live and learn right?

I've been there before. I was happily stitching away to realise at the end I lost a page somewhere in the middle. 3000 stitches for nothing...ZenAlpha wrote:Had to tear the whole thing apart and make a new print ($30.00 down the drain) then put it all back together again. Live and learn right?
Only way to improve I guess... However annoying I might be.

Re: Framed Perler bead projects
Thank you! I use the masking tape method so I can iron them for longer without the risk of warping my peg boards. It takes a bit longer to do, but I feel like the results are cleaner, and it seems you do too so thanks for confirming that for me!
